helllo guys, need some help

last week, i changed my 512 ram to 2 slots of 1gb 667 ddr2 ram....After some time, when i restart my lappie, or turn it on after i shut down, whenever it finish loading the windows screen, then it goes blank (supposingly enter the logon screen).

What is actually wrong? WHenever it happens, I tried to force it to power off and on again, then i choose most recent working settings, then it can work again. Does it got anythin to do with the ram? Or what izzt?

i have 2 1gb rams inserted, how do i activate dual channel, or it does it automaticly?

try going into bios and see da amount of ram there

normally is auto defined 1 ..
need to use both same model oni can ^ ^

oh ok, anyways how to install forceware?

but normally jz install from the cd's lar ... isn't it ?

you can actually get da drivers from hp website
search under [presario v3000 cto] then u can choose wad os
easier dat way and less headaches

but now my baby at HP tower...

my lappie hang without warning. Use office or play or what ever u do. when it hang u can only shut it down by pressing the on/off button for 10 sec.tension wooo...
so decided to send to HP..

they charge me rm 95 for express service....

now waiting their call to pick up the lappie..eta 6pm

by the way they also dunno what happen keep calling me for the symptom ow it happen.

i chcked my bios, and its 2gb ram oso wo...hmmm

ur lappy is new or ??
if new ... got charge de meh ??

btw how did you guys use up to 512 mb of ram on graphics? i can only go for 128mb (using persario V3424AU)

I hit the problem once... that time i try to play mp3 and it just suddenly hang...
and have to force power off. I'm using V3204AU....

if your lappie hang frequent?
do update us on the status after get it back from HP....

try going into safe mode can arr?
if still cannot check weather u install da ram correctly or not
then if still cannot try 2 repair windows
THEN if still cannot put in the 512mb and backup all ur data and put da 2gb back and reformat

no wo...never knock it, the fella at low yat change for me 1..but he handle it very well lo...cause he changed it right infront of me....windows can detect the 2gb ram also...maybe is windows prob?
