Do you guys recommend me to uninstall the Norton Antivirus that comes pre-installed in my V3242 ??
I think the Norton AV is really slowing down the Vista and also my internet connection speed. For Anti Virus, I prefer AVG...free & does not slow down the system. Added on May 25, 2007, 11:00 amIs there anyway to increase the battery life besides lowering down the screen brightness ?? When on WiFi mode, I intend to try to increase the battery life to 2.5 hour. Currently can last around 2 hours only. This post has been edited by raoul: May 25 2007, 11:00 AM |

Had any1 try installing DDR2 800 RAM into V3222AU? (or any other AMD model @ Wistron 30B5 motherboard). I'm planning RAM upgrade, and seeing
Of course, I'm aware that stock Nanya 512MB RAM is DDR2 667 and installing DDR2 800 at slot 2 would cap both @ DDR2 667. This post has been edited by <giaNt>: May 25 2007, 11:42 PM |

QUOTE(john_jay2 @ May 26 2007, 12:01 AM) i suggest u better use the 667mhz .. more better ... Wow, didn't expect such quick response. In fact, still googling. Actually, I'll just carry the laptop to shop and test. If can run DDR2 800, buy lor. Otherwise, get DDR2 667. coz i dont think it support 800 mhz .. later waste .. Added on May 26, 2007, 12:21 am Also, guys, I'm sure most of you ran the CPU-Z verification. Does your RAM run @ 333MHz? (suppose to be at this speed as RAM is DDR2 667) I'd check mine, running @ 166.7 MHz only. (CPU/RAM divider is 1/5). Actually, bought this laptop early in February 2007. Somehow, let my sis use it. So, quite unfamiliar with this laptop, yet. This post has been edited by <giaNt>: May 26 2007, 12:22 AM |

QUOTE(shirohamada @ May 26 2007, 04:23 AM) you're doing it wrong. Yep, you're right. As soon as SP2004 starts, RAM speed shoot up to 320.x MHz, that's double.i think thats when its idles, it cut half of the max powahh. try in full load, or when powernow is not in effect. just run video/superpi/etc... Thanks |

uhm, I wonder why my laptop wont decrease the speed when I use battery only, as it still remain on 1.6ghz, this is too much draining my battery life
but it still manage to run 2 hours, so my guess if its running at half of the speed when I use battery, i can use at least 3 hours also NHC can do setting on thise? I already chooose under Battery there, while using current, maximize performance, and when using battery, maximise batt life. any idea? |
