Hi,

I am using CompaQ Presario V3040TU, running on Windows XP SP2. Everthing is running smoothly until today, when I turn on my lappy, it seem hangs after I login to Windows (I got set password).. The NAV & Norton Int Security has been disabled automatically...and the cursor is on BUSY state when I move to Windows Taskbar.... I cant click anything (Can click desktop thingy but windows cant popup, but cant click the Taskbar) and it continue as so until 10minutes... and I fed up, I restart it using CTRL+ALT+DEL, Shutdown..afterthat I start it again..still same..lastly i off again, wait for 10mins, then on it again, and this time can go into Windows d, seem not mouse cursor not at BUSY state anymore. I cont to use it, doing my assignment. But afterward I can feel lag. I open task manager but the idle CPU process is 99, and no other process is running. Then I uninstall the NAV & NIS, afterward also same...

Now, I on it again..the situation seem same...when login to windows d, only some program can run (show in the clock there)...and I need to wait 15mins for all process to finish load..

I got use Diskkeeper to defrag, and what i remember was I copy around 10GB movie from C:, and 10GB movie from D to dekstop, using USB hardisk...


Any idea on this?

BTW, can I still upgrade the warranty of my lappy? I bought it on last august 2006....How much to upgrade? And can I send my lappy to HP service center for checkup? Where is the nearest HP serv near Nilai? Got address?

the cpu temp is normal, and i just reformat it d...but now still can feel some lag...dunno what is the problem..can i get it check at HP Service center? where is HP service center?

Also if I want to upgrade RAM, must I do it at HP? can i upgrade myselt? HP using Nanya ram rite? Kingston ram can use anot? scare not compatible...
what is the price of 1GB DDR2 533MHz if I do it at HP?

Hi guys,

I wanna ask if I want to add RAM, can I just go buy and plug in the RAM myself? Kingston RAM can use? or must I use back NANYA RAM? Btw, wll it spoilt the warranty? My V3000 still has 5 months warranty...

If it will spoilt the warranty then only thing I can do is add RAM at HP Service Center? What is the price for 1Gb DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz/667MHz? Anyone can tell whether V3040TU come with 533MHz or 667MHz ram?

i'd checked..it's running 533MHz RAM now...my question, can I use 667MHz RAM instead of 533MHz? Comparing:

1) 512MB 533MHz + 1GB 533MHz
2) 1GB 667MHz

which one will have better performance?

Anyone can tell me V3040Tu is compatible to use 667MHz RAM? (and the price oso)

u mean both ram need to be either 533MHz clock speed or 667MHz clock speed izzit?

if so, if i upgrade my RAM to 1.5GB, using 1 512MB 533MHz (original using now) and add another 1GB 667 MHz will have better performance than add another 1GB 533MHz??? which option whould I go for?

okok..actually i am hoping the ram can drop more so that i can get it a cheaper price ..wakaka...

I dunno wat's wrong with my V3040TU d...Juz now when I doing project, it suddenly pop out 1 blue screen saying dunno wat "critical ..." things and need to be restart...the screen juz appear for 1 seconds then my laptop automatically restart...luckily MS WOrd had recovered my documentation but i need to redo my Visio drawing...T T

Any one face the same problem before? Wat's wrong with my laptop? I juz open 6-8 documents, and accessing internet using wireless...

before also got one time, where i leave my laptop on...there i go to toilet, juz for 3 minutes...when i back the laptop is turned off already...wat the problem huh?

Please help help me...

beside bug/virus, will hardware failure cause the problem also?

wanna ask, is it normal for this? my v3000 is 1.66GHz but in the system properties it only show 980MHz.juz realise this..is it normal for laptop???

no wor...I didn't install any hardware/software also...no physical damage (i care much on my laptop)..juz the kaspersky got auto update the virus def..but i had rollback after the problem occur..but after rollback still same leh...

nobody faced the problem i faced?? nobody know what happen r? why i so sueh...
