I did consider to open an OCBC account before they asked me to pledge an FD to apply for credit card

OCBC CC is very limited use and harder to get as you have seen. 360 interest criteria can be done by debit card also.

my transactions TODAY

will only be showed tonight PAST midnight 12:01AM

is this how it's suppose to be?

If you are referring to :
1) Transfer to other bank account from OCBC 360 saving account then it is immediately.
2) Use debit card to make payment to merchant then it is possible to appear on next day (posted or not is another matter).

they rejected my request for SST rebate and claimed that no more rebate since 1 Sep 2021.

So, i decided to cancel the card, and they retain me by giving me RM25 rebate. So, try at ur own risk...

Stumbled across HLB Pay&Save recently, high interest and seems not difficult to achieve (unless I missed the catch? If any). I wonder why not much mention of it here on LYN...
What do you guys think on Pay&Save vs 360? Am thinking to switch out from OCBC.

Because HLB Pay&Save account still loses out to RHB Smart account. 2.65% vs RHB's 2.85%, plus RHB's tiers are much easier to hit.

The 'pay' and 'spend' are both dead money, compared to OCBC (where spend is on CC so at least can get 1%) and RHB (bill payment no minimum total spend). Added to that the lower interest rate compared to RHB. Heck even SCB preferable I think due to the dead money pay/spend HLB categories.

shocking.gif Looks like I've missed out quite some stuffs... I thought I've read the T&C. sweat.gif

In terms of "dead money", as in we can't use it freely?

Thought I did look at RHB Smart account, likely it was the min 1k spend on card put me off... I shall relook into that again and see which RHB card is good biggrin.gif , as looking for alternatives to switch out from OCBC.
Also, odd that there's no thread/not much mention on RHB Smart Account here I wonder why?

Thanks sifus! notworthy.gif

"Dead money" here is I'm meaning you spend the money with no rewards except for the interest rate. Because something like debit card spending doesn't get you any cashback etc. So it's basically like spending cash (you don't even get interest free days like CC). This applies for transfer from savings account and debit card spend (except for certain debit cards which give rewards, to be fair it seems HLB sometimes has those).

While the competitor savings accounts (OCBC, SCB, RHB) all require CC spend instead. CC spend normally earns some rewards, whether its points or cashback. Given a choice between the 2 of course having some rewards would be good. E.g. for RHB I use the Shell Visa card so that can get the 5%/2% cashback (depending your monthly spend), meaning I always hit 2.5k every month anyway.

Hmm don't see OCBC CC thread so I'm posting here.

Recently I got fraud on OCBC CC, luckily the main big transaction didn't go through as the bank system noticed the abnormal transaction at the "test charge" and suspended my card immediately.
Later I found out apparently my family also kena on their card.

Likely data leak or what...? You guys beware and pay attention on your CC statements.
