Today I sitted LRT from Muhibbah to IOI. The stations looked very good. Maybe because still clean and neat. Like Singapore standard. Not like Philippines LRT lookalikes in city center.

I'm not sure how true is this future KL future metro. This was taken from another thread posted in kopitiam days ago.

More interesting is the new Sg Long MRT line to Kota Kemuning passing thru areas not covered by Ampang lines inc Puchong Utama...yeahhhhhh

I might inc this if this is true & someone show me the source of the plan

BTW, my toll free maps on the west Puchong toll might be outdated abit as new housing road behind bt13 market already completed end of last year & this toll free road will be better alternative for those in puteri & wawasan. Shorter way via tpp & sri puchong rather than jln Jurutera/puchong perdana

RM8 for phat thai. Very authentic, if you disregard the omelette. Make sure you go to the right stall. The stall that says "Authentic Thai Food" is NOT authentic. The authentic one is Sunshine. At the very least the phat thai is authentic. Haven't tried anything else.

Actually there's another stretch of new road in TPP that's been built. Please refer to the red patch in the map below.

So you can now travel directly from Sri Paandi to the Poslaju office behind the Rakan Muda complax.

I suspect most ppl from perdana onwards parked there rather than continue wth the jam till ioi mall. I can't see tesco stn parking from the train..so not sure the condition.

Also ppl will naturally take almost to the end of the line to get seats rather than standing

Actually switching to another line will not cost much as what I originally anticipated. Yday took the LRT from TPP to pasar Seni for a quick mtg.

Took me approx 1hr 10min to reach pasar seni wth 1 switch at mesjud jamek due to the long walk from ampang to kj line. Cost -RM3.60. Ok lah for such a long distance haha

You will loss on time for sure but on value, I can say still worth it. I hv yet to calculate the xtra km but from the picture, it should be xtra 1.5km. A normal car should not consumed >RM2/km right?

No need, that's why either way I also untung. More people take take the toll-free way, I have a more pleasant journey on the toll road. People take the toll road, I don't like the traffic take the toll-free way, fewer cars, more scenic ride, also OK. rclxms.gif

Yesterday finally able to find this biggest waterfall. Look like this area is open for public already?

The 1st trail have been block by the ranger. Who waiting at the mud road. He seems to know somebody is coming down from the trail. Have to turn back. Use another trail to go in.

Concluding it as spending 70sen and extra 5 minutes for the route without paying rm2.1 for the toll. If I'm not in the rush then I'll chill an drive the route else I'll just pay the toll and go home.

Anyway stimix do add me into Bandar Bukit Puchong member list biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Today my first day take LRT from Pusat Bandar Puchong to Masjid Jamek.. At last the train delay almost 45 minutes at Chan Sow Lin..Siao Liao, late for work!

Wow, luckily I missed this catastrophe. I took from PBP to KLCC today, took me 70 minutes. Mostly smooth except for a few minutes wait at Muhibah station due to waiting for clear go signal.

I've experienced twice the old train from S.Petaling to PWTC, all the way silent, no station names announcement and no change platform notification at Chan Sow Lin station at all.
I'm sure it will greatly affect the foreign tourist or first time LRT user.

it will change to ATO computer drive after entire line is complete and upgrade old Ampang line signalling and sensor。
expected speed will be increase speed after computer drive. also no need swap train anymore in Sri petaling ,save 5-7 minutes。
than entire old train will retire, all route using new train。

Shall we talk about the shuttle bus service at all the Puchong LRT stations ?
My nearest station BK5 is still without shuttle bus service to serve the last mile transfer since opening last Nov.
Those without car, no driving lisence still finding hard to enjoy the LRT service.

I'm vaguely aware that there might be a shuttle bus that stops near my house but in the absence of a reliable schedule, I'd prefer to walk. Luckily the PBP station is within walking distance for me.

My house to BK station is 2km walk. Can not walk la, the UV damaged to the skin is even more costlier.
Those living in BK 6 lagi far. Maybe 6 or 7 km away from station.
I guess stimix definitely can't do that with his expensive bike. tongue.gif

I think the trick is not to let the hot air in in the first place. It also helps that my room faces NNW, so it only gets the last couple of hours of the hot afternoon sun.

You are trying to stop the noise (whatever it is) from inside your room from going out?

You'll need to work on the wall, the windows and of course your door. Then only celah-celah where you have done the door strip.

I don't know what level of sound insulation that you are trying to achieve, but try and have more cloth in your room.
Full floor Carpet, full wall curtains then the noise should significantly reduced.

My insulation is primarily for heat. For noise, I'm told laminated glass is what you want for your windows.

I usually have the aircon on in the bedroom only from the Lunar New Year period until about June like that, and not every day, only during the hottest days.

The rest of the year, most of the time no need liao.

The LRT ridership is low probably due to the time taken to reach the destination is longer than driving there. There are so many stops at the stations along the route especially if you are going to KL city centre. The fare is not economical too.

Access to the Pusat Bandar Station is not very obvious if you are driving. You have to keep your eyes peeled for the sign directing you to turn left and make a long detour to get to the parking lot. Once you're already level with the station, you've passed the turn off. You can turn in at Tesco, but again, you're faced with another roundabout drive to get to the parking lot. The IOI Mall station is much friendlier in terms of access. Also, getting to the station from the surrounding commercial precinct on foot is not straightforward. In many cases, you're looking at a long walk under the hot sun. In more enlightened countries, you have underpasses to connect two areas separated by a busy road, instead of an overhead pedestrian bridge which present you with a long flight of steps. With an underpass, you won't need to spend money on electricity to run the escalators, which of course, also frequently breakdown and once in a while swallow up people when they are hungry.

The low ridership according to my persona opinion

1) RM4 park and ride too high.
2) LRT fare price hike.
3) No feeder service.
4) Train travelling too slow. Travelling time too long.
5) Need to change platform at S.Petaling.
6)
7)

Eg. Travelling to Hang Tuah station from IOI Mall station to Hang Tuah, single journey token fare is RM4.00 + RM4.00 parking. Total cost of travelling is RM8 and time spent to and fro estimate 2.5 hours Home > LYP > home (including parking, walking and waiting for train)
If you plan to go to Lowyat Plaza to do a 1 or 2 hours warranty claim, would you rather drive (not during super peak rush hours) or take the LRT ??

Another thing I just found out is that the fare from BK5 to Hang Tuah is RM4.30 but Puteri to Hang Tuah is only RM3.60. 4 stations further but cheaper by 70sen. how come ar ??

Upon wasted my precious executive time to do a further research on this matter, I found weird pricing mechanism in the LRT fares.
Let's take Tesco station for example, next station IOI is RM1.40 and all the way increase to RM3.70 at Sungai Besi but drop to RM3.50 at BTS then up again to RM4.20 at Salak Selatan then drop again to RM3.70 at Cheras.
We need LYN Transport Minister Kampung2005 explanation on this matter.

1. parking in KL more high
2. agree , too high
3. feeder service will come step-by-step
4 & 5. now train slow due to manual drive, need wait after entire extension complete, and wait Ampang line signalling & sensor upgrade than new train ATO will active means computer will drive the train, and will have better speed and frequency. after Ampang line upgrade signalling , current all Ampang train will retire replace with new AMY train and no need change platfrom any more at Sri Petaling Station, time will reduce 4-7 minutes more。just few month more.

new Fare base on distance and zone, Puteri station already jump to other zone, so more far zone & distance more cheaper. now new fare structure for middle zone station is more expensive further zone station.

This doesn't make any sense. In most urban rapid transit systems where the fare system is based on zones, you pay based on how many zones you travel across. So I paid RM3.60 to travel from Tesco to Pandan Indah, whilst the fare to Hang Tuah from the same station might be RM4.30. Assuming Tesco and Pandan Indah are in the same zone, this makes some sense although it is not very intuitive. But surely Puteri or BK5 are either in the same zone, or BK 5 is one zone closer to the city centre, so the fare should be lower than if you travel from Puteri.

The fare table posted by aeiou is really crazy. According to the table, it will cost me RM4.40 to travel to Pandan Indah from Pusat Bandar Puchong, whilst, Cempaka, which is one stop further, is only RM3.60. And the table says I will have to pay RM0.80 to travel from Pusat Bandar Puchong to Pusat Bandar Puchong!

Hopefully, readers who travel on LRT daily can help to ask the counter why the fare system is so confusing.

I read somewhere that if you exit the same station that you first entered, there is a minimum charge of 80sen. I think this is applicable to cashless travel, If I'm not mistaken la.

problem is the rapikl design fare is more far zone is more cheaper, more close zone per-km fare is more expensive.
no, BK5 and IOI station is 1 zone, pusat bandar puchong Tesco, pusat perinsdustrian puchong is bandar Puteri station is other zone, rapidkl practics every 3 station for each zone.
ultimate go rapidkl is they want charge majority middle distance commuter to rm 3-5 ringgit which most highest ridership with in this middle zone. before that fare only about 2-3 ringgit. show rapidkl make 40-70% jump on fare for this middle zone.

Anyone experienced the same as me? I boarded the train at Pusat Bandar Puchong to Imbi (Monorail), before boarding i checked the ticketing machine for the price and it displayed RM4.60. I used T&G card for payment, and it only deducted RM4.00 from my card.

Are they giving a discount for now?

b4 najib time, i dun scare roadblock bcoz nothing illegal on my car, even 3rd brake light no lampu they will nicely warn u.

Now, those roadblock by motorcycle patrol better bcareful and everynight routine block like puchong jaya, tudm kinrara & OKR. I will avoid at all cost.
This type of block i kena stop b4 at Tmn bahagia lrt, check ic/license,road tax, check where u go, check inside car, check plate number, still can't find anything wrong, at the end ask me are u going to rompak.. mega_shok.gif
One time also i do uber sending angmoh with prc brows.gif kena roadblock at small road. check inside my car, got that 2 foreign passengers, jackpot, all police surround my car, thing very messy, 1 police ask already another police ask same question. I can see they are coaching/experimenting to the junior by asking really sohai question and they discussing plan. Well, the drunk angmoh acting clown play their weapon, hump in their hummer, give money settle.

Operasi one still ok

this i also heard many say police gun usually only load around 3 bullet the rest bullet they keep at others magazine, because the gun fully loaded is heavy not comfortable

I wonder how heavy is a single bullet for gun. Unless the policeman is a sharp shooter, he/she will be at a disadvantage during firefight with criminals with fully loaded firearms.

We need LYN Transport Minister Kampung2005 explanation on this matter.

they are charged based on kilometer.... not per station... at first i am also confused after i read on ktm for public transport fee... then understand little bit why some station (usually next station will be lower then previous) lower to next station even it run more station...

basic calculation is like this:

based fare + how long journey + X + Y = ticket price

based fare normally around 80 up to rm1.2(i think different through all services like lrt is different compare to monorel etc)

distance of journey= how long your km, going longer you get cheaper. example 1-7km, charge 14.5 sen per km, 7-15km 12.5 sen and so on...

X and Y is like additional charge..(of course like some fees for SPAD or what ever menteri want to charge)

so let say the station you go is around 6.5km(call it A) and next station just over 7.5km(call it B), so A station will charged around 94.25 cents for the journey and next station just 93.75 cents... just like that....

it just basic idea how new fare is calculated...that why new fare sometimes feel funny....

previously they using zoning system where each zone maybe contain 4-5 station and will be charge same price basket, either closest or far one.

this is to make it clear...

Bro, how much is your daily traveling cost (Parking + LRT) to work place using LRT?
Compare to drive to work place, would you able to achieve saving in terms of time and money?

Work at KL currently.

Naik dekat IOI LRT and come off at Plaza Rakyat LRT. 1 way = RM 3.60

Parking = RM 4 flat

Time needed = 1 hour

(RM 3.60 x 2) + RM 4 = RM 11.20

If drive to work, time needed also 1 hour +/-

Petrol I would say not much...maybe few bucks only.

Parking definitely RM10 minimum. My side's parking is RM 12.50.

So if wanna compare...the price not that much different...main difference for me is...I can rest a while more on LRT biggrin.gif if drive...have to concentrate...the moment sampai office already exhausted sweat.gif

Thanks for sharing.
My is short duration trip to KL during off rush hours. Cost of using LRT round trip is average RM12/trip including parking. Sometimes, depending on duration of the visit and the parking rate at the destination building, driving is cheaper and faster for me.

RM80 monthly pass really not worth it. Exact amt if to park 5 days at any rm4/day lrt stn! They should give discount let say rm50 just like sunway pal weekdays pass. Only rm50/mth!

Most likely ktm
Ktm frequency is low
But if ktm break down
It's still better than car broke down in the middle of the road and have thug ask if you want your car toll.
Walking on the track would be interesting
Stuck in train with no aircon is not nice tho sad.gif

It is for the modem and router power.

You need 2 3pin power socket. Or a multiple socket.

Prepare the following:
1) cal-lab surge isolator.
2) multi gang trailing socket (need at least 5 socket points)

Plug the surge isolator to your wall socket then plug the multi gang to the cal-lab.
Plug all 5 main devices ie modem, router, TV, streaming device and cordless phone to the multi gang socket.

android v5 with KODI? mana boleh beli?

Android TV box got macam macam brands and specs, if your TV is 4K, then you may want to consider a box can support 4K, at least in future you subscribe unify or time 100mbps line, can watch YouTube 4k or Netflix 4k. Anyway, 1080p is very good liau.
Those box with embedded underground Astro contents or free paid TV channels normally selling more expensive because of pre-installed ahem ahem but hardware specs so so only. It's up to you but I wouldn't go for it because the ahem ahem can siok siok stop working after some time leaving you an expensive but lousy box.
For quality box with quality OS, these are the few names, all angmo brands...AppleTV, Roku, Amazone Fire TV.
For cheap cheap but ok device...Google Chromecast.
For Windows lover, go for Windows TV stick. Got so many brands, just google la.

Btw, don't pay extra if seller says his box got Kodi. Kodi is a free ware downloadable from Kodi site. Kodi is very mafan one and not so user friendly. Kodi is formerly known as XBMC.

They've just installed my home fibre. They won't hack and conceal the fibre optic cable, but they pulled it through the attic space for me

The fiber cable is very small. Paint it to match your wood color.

Won't notice the cable.

I think he was referring to the table legs. When you unfold it, you can place a wooden table top on it. I always seen that in the restaurants.

Hypermarkets sell banquet tables and plastic tables with the legs attached to it.

The maxis router wifi not so strong the signal. It flushing up and down.

For normal wifi is ok. But stream HD content will be lag. Even just few meter away.

Got to use lan cable connect if streaming HD.

Normally on the packaging of the router, they will have stickers saying this router support for UniFi, Maxis, Time or etc. Just go to those IT shops and take a look biggrin.gif

If you wan to use LAN cable, you can look into Powerline adapter.

With this, you don't have to drill holes. Just plug into wall socket and you can access internet adi

Thanks. Will check it out.

I don't trust much of this powerline adaptor. Just worry it leak and surge the current/voltage into the LAN line. Damage everything. Kena this bad experience with phone line. Lightning strike.

And yesterday my NAS server LAN side cannot work anymore. Can't communicate at all. Evening got thunderstorm. sweat.gif

After installing Cal-Lab Lightning isolator, I never had appliances KFC ever since. I can't recall how long but surely more than 10 years. But I do had my Cal-Lab self-destroyed twice (a process of power surge isolation ). The isolator arrest small power surges and isolate (self-destroyed) if the surge is too strong in order to protect the devices connected to it. Luckily, Cal-Lab provide lifetime damaged isolator replacement for RM25 per unit.

If you are looking for surge protection, look for a protector that can arrest small surges as well as isolate if the surge is too strong.

Other electrical like aircon, fridge or WM have no problem at all. This thing is 24/7 ON. And no protector.

Cal-Lab got different models for different usage.
I have 5 units of isolator protecting 5 different areas in my house. Refrigerator is running 24/7, so it gets a dedicated isolator. Other equipments protected are TV, Astro, Streaming box, modem, router, cordless phone, PC, fax, printer.
The isolator most prone to surge damaged is the one connected to cordless phone.

If I'm not mistaken, Belkin is just a surge arrester. When the current surge is stronger than the arrester's threshold, it will let the current pass thru without "self-sacrifice" (isolate).
As for Cal-Lab, it will arrest current surge as well but if surge is stronger the its treshold, it will self-sacrifice to isolate (cut off) the current from damaging the appliances/devices.
My PC+cordless phone+fax machine connected within an island of a self-sacrifice Cal-Lab survived twice from lightning strikes.

But can claim for new appliance based on the original cost of the fried appliance. Took about 1 month to complete the process (from submission to receive cash).
Eg, in 2014, you bought a 40" TV for RM2999. After it was fried in 2016, you can still claim RM2999. Now you can buy 50" TV. Aren't that a free upgrade ?'

Cal-Lab charge RM25 for each replacement, maybe this could be reason why they can afford to offer life time replacement warranty.

There are a lot of European soccer matches but I'm not sure which is EPL and which is not.
You can check the program schedule To see if EPL is available or nor.

Taikor, I remember I told you to get addicted 2 years ago, but you said you can't kick your Astro away. So now apa lagi, boleh potong liao. tongue.gif
But be warned, Once you get used to on demand TV, ie. watch the preferred content at your preferred timing, you will find it hard to go back to scheduled TV like Astro liao.

I think Kodi is more on English contents, if Chinese/Korea/HK contents is the reason for you to keep the Astro, try side load cloudTV in your Minix.

Two news about Puchong:

1) Heard from Tesco Puchong CS that the management is in the midst of discussion to implement countermeasure for the parking problem caused by the opening of new LRT station.

2) Is it the end of road for Metrobus?

This is a terrible idea.

Most of the residence in Selangor aren't from Selangor, but they still contribute funds to the Selangor state government.

Would you like it if KL started charging people fron Selangor for basic services that are free to KL people?

Good. Next they should also close puchong jaya traffic using the left ramp from sg besi puchong bypass. This ramp should only limit to those heading further than puchong jaya.

Those to puchong jaya can only use the junction b4 the ramp to further reduce the narrow ramp

Take them so long to close this traffic jam cause junction.

Yup. Those going to puchong Jaya using this jln kenari instead of joining the jam at that narrow ramp

Especially when a lot of people double park at that road...

This junction shouldn't be built since day 1.

The car turning in slow down the traffic. The car coming from 4 direction, bukit jalil, old klang road, puchong jaya and the U turn jam up at this bottle neck road.

They need to close off the junction next to IOI boulevard as well. Traffic builds up there and contributes to the jam at the bottleneck.

I remember the slip road bottle net was cleared of traffic for some time upon completion of LDP widening works just 2 years (?) ago. Now back to square one.

Suggestion to MPSJ
- The Proton Edar junction to be closed... all turned LEFT via IOI Business Park T-junction
- Close the U-turn under the LDP ramp also.

Cannot la.

The LDP modify the road infront IOI to separate into 2 is the purpose for the puchong jaya. For smooth drive LDP, take the right.

Close the U-turn under the LDP ramp will effect the IOI mall and surround shop. Majority of the house is opposite.

You can still drive towards LDP and make an U-turn at KESAS exit to come back onto LDP on the other side.
Longer way but it will not concentrate all cars at the same time.

Can not la, only puchong old birds know how to maneuver that hidden u turn but it will still aggravate the traffic flow after the toll plaza.

But I do think Litrak should install at least 100m or 200m pole-divider to separate the U-turn waiting lane on the IOI Mall side to prevent vehicles using second, third lanes (from the right) and cut in at the front of the U turn.

When you move the traffic away from the bottle neck, it will alleviate the problem. And not LDP re-open the old U-turn... the "temp" U-turn was much better location.
It should be a SOLID concrete divider... but people will still cut Q nevertheless

it's better control by traffic light, stop whenever green light on puchong jaya or old klang road.
most of the time those cars need to stop because of u-turn cars get out rudely.

Forgotten about the existing alternative road for those from bkt jalil. They should use the existing alternative road just after the shell stn & not to use the narrow left turn.

Without proper exits, vehicles will get stuck not being able to get out of ldp. Adjustments must be made to widen these side roads & properly timed traffic lights out of ldp so the pressure is released from the main highway out to the surrounding tamans.

Why pay when you can park for FREE by double/triple parking... no enforcement by MPSJ is the main issue.
If the MPSJ officers setup a booth 9am-5pm at these areas.... sure no one dare to double/triple park. Their saman ticket supply will finish so fast

This is about the first 2 hours free parking at IOI Mall for Aeon member.

Your parking ticket validated by AEON supermarket gift counter for the first 2 hours free parking but the new auto pay machine fail to detect AEON validation and asking for parking fee. (Exit within 2 hours)

You have two options:
1) pay and exit.
2) go to IOI Mall CS counter and get your parking ticket validated for free.

IOI mall CS blamed AEON gift counter did not validate the ticket properly.

Yeah... because the Ampang Line Extension has different train type than Kelana Jaya Line extension.
Hope the change is seamless, i.e. come out of one Putra Heights train walk over to the next Kelana Jaya train which is waiting already

Boy...! Yesterday thunderstorm and lightning surge caused my main circuit breaker to tripped and one of my lightning isolator securing the TM phone line self destructed in order to save the fax machine.
When lightning, Power surge always came from the phone line.

Any good car AT gearbox specialist in Puchong?

I need a specialist to have a look at my 8 years old car (170K mileage).

There are noticeable gear delayed engagements. The gear takes about 2 seconds to engage when shifting from P->D or R->D especially during cold start.

Thanks.

Nov 2015 last year. I changed my AT fluid regularly at every 40K interval at the authorized SC.
SC checked using small hand-held computer. Test results are OK. Fluid level check OK.
But, I don't feel good as the symptom is still there.
