Receive this from a tech vendor friend who is servicing a client. Not sure if it this company is legit or operational yet but it will definitely offer another alternative for many of us to port out from that problematic telco giant who come under fire recently. Was told that this "webe" brand is a working code name slated for unveiling between 11-15th April. Unsure if the finalised name remains the same.

P1 rebrands to webe.
will be using 850Mhz LTE. 3G and 2G will be riding on Celcom network.it is so easy to decipher this based on the latest news. this is not MVNO. This post has been edited by Xefron: Apr 6 2016, 05:36 PM |

They will probably have a different web address, since webe.com.my is already taken. Maybe Webe4g? P1webe?

I am guessing TM will offer Unifi products that will be packaged together with mobile network , like what singapore telcos are doing.
most Likely urging customers to sign up to higher Unifi packages, that comes with perks of cheap mobile connection. the incumbents will really feel the heat with TM coming into the fray. This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Apr 6 2016, 09:22 PM |

sounds so movie scripted...
TIME launched 100Mbps, Story of the Maxis and TM encounters. Maxis so called scandal, Story of the porting & Celcom. TM ads, Story of TIME rolls TM off Twitter. MCMC penalties, Story of few telcos been hit with compounds. Now.... New Telco, Story of some kind of joke>> RM 8 for 20GB..... might as well start a whole new story of porting again... hahahaa LoL, just joking here..... |

I feel the pricing is not really fixed yet, especially the RM8-10? Then Auto-Pay get RM5 off?
RM80/month for unlimited everything seems plausible though |

webe: A New Telco In Malaysia Is About To Go Live
An anonymous tipster has just delivered us a set of mysterious images of what seems to be a SIM card starter pack by a brand called webe. These images were also accompanied by a rather intriguing description that stated: “Malaysia’s first Digital Solutions Provider,”. Well, that sounds like a telco description to us but…who is webe? Truth be told, webe is not exactly a new name in the industry as a local “crowdbacking” platform called webe community made its debut last year. Interestingly, we realized that not only that it has the same name as the upcoming telco but it also has the same logo. A quick whois check on webe community’s URL has showed that the domain is actually owned by Packet One Networks (P1). Furthermore, there is also a clock on the website that is counting down to 13 April which apparently is the day that the platform will reveal its future projects as well as the people behind the webe community itself. It is also the day that P1 is expected to announce its transition into a mobile telco after securing cellular capability from Celcom earlier this year. Given their relationship and the picture that we received earlier today, we don’t think it just a mere coincidence that P1 and webe community has chosen 13 April as the date for their big announcement. Of course, nothing is official at the moment until it is confirmed by related parties. webe community Countdown Nevertheless, we’ll continue to be on the look out for more info related to the new telco up leading to the webe community and P1’s big announcement day on 13 April. -Source- lowyat.NET |

QUOTE(l_liet @ Apr 7 2016, 09:43 AM) they do bundle phone for their plan rmX one, the safest of course are those modelsbut after details unveiled, of course can get from open market the similar model or specifications, i don believe they work the way like YES create their own brand of phone (very bad sales) as said, while TM holding 850mhz & 2600mhz, it can fine tune how it going to apply to "plans" such as for plan got quota one ride on faster band band 40 (2.3GHz) or 38 (2.6GHz), now most probably band 38 tdd of P1 to be utilised first as P1 said wanna slowly convert it existing wimax customers base 2.3GHz to LTE later. so tm-p1 may have 3 bands to offer LTE finally. then for that unlimited quota rm80 put on 850mhz to save capacity, it already unlimited quota, how can u complain unfair? |

If its really unlimited quota, TM/P1/Webe need to be prepared. Because this is wireless and not wired. Congestion of wireless > wired Anyway, really looking forward to subscribe this plan |

For the beginning stage, this should be good enough as a wireless internet solution at a fixed location like at home or workplace. To use it as a mobile phone line would be risky if you frequently travel around due to their network coverage.
One possible solution I can see is to roam with Celcom 2G network whenever there is no network coverage from webe. Good for calls/SMS and slow speed data which should still allow messages from WhatsApp etc. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 8 2016, 11:49 AM) But then again, there shouldn't even be a published plan on a website if it's just for staff. It might be for a limited time or something as well. Can only wait for the official launch and see what they have to offer. |

I dont think they post at any public website as you see lowyat's posts are all from Google webcache which only if you have the link you may see it.So better wait until they launch a public/retail package if there is. As if it mention that is Beta/staff plans, we cant say/argue anything unless we are working for them... so just stay calm and sit back... |

How did other people obtained it like lowyat.net that page is a mockup page only and possibility during the real launch date, the plans will be change again for the public retail..... I think most telco done it before. Is just that the content that shows in WEBE website is making a viral flare with the public like a stunt publicity. |

Even if the plan is for staff only, the brochure or images will get leaked out to the public also eventually. Public will still get excited because they won't read further |

Can't detect webe signal using Xiaomi 1S and Honor 4X.
So it's the phone problem or Webe not signal? |

Thanks, I've just checked the specs of these two models,Honor 4x NETWORK FDD-LTE:B3/B7/B8/B20 UMTS:B1/B8 GSM:B2/B3/B5/B8 Xiaomi Redmi2 Mobile networks supported 4G Network FDD-LTE - Band 3 (1800 MHz) - Band 7 (2600 MHz) - Band 8 (900 MHz) 3G Network WCDMA - Band 1 (2100 MHz) - Band 8 (900 MHz) 2G Network GSM (900/1800 MHz) So these 2 models not supported? |

LOL hmmm im bad at explaining stuff... What i meant is, you received a call and you go to the home screen (while the call is still on going) then you decide to browse lyn forum and ignore the caller (while the call is still on going)
In essence, simultaneous calling and usage of data Btw is it true that if we want tethering we need to pay another RM10? You can do tethering now? Thanks ya for providing so much info... if is really Rm10 for 20GB on LTE really gonna switch camp from TuneTalk. TuneTalk is good though, but WeBe seems better |

QUOTE(joevo2 @ Apr 11 2016, 08:36 AM) LOL hmmm im bad at explaining stuff... What i meant is, you received a call and you go to the home screen (while the call is still on going) then you decide to browse lyn forum and ignore the caller (while the call is still on going) I haven't tested any tethering before on webe but i am pretty sure that feature is disable by default.u need to subscribe that feature for certain amount. In essence, simultaneous calling and usage of data Btw is it true that if we want tethering we need to pay another RM10? You can do tethering now? Thanks ya for providing so much info... if is really Rm10 for 20GB on LTE really gonna switch camp from TuneTalk. TuneTalk is good though, but WeBe seems better don't ask plan or pricing stuffs because i don't know. tested on IP6/6s and OP2. This post has been edited by Xefron: Apr 11 2016, 08:42 AM |

it is irony if TM through webe can offer a quite destructive plan offering for their mobile internet while their fix internet plan doesn't show any sign of decreasing in price.

QUOTE(JJKTP @ Apr 11 2016, 10:53 AM) True, I think better to get a device that supports TD-LTE band 38 and 40 to be safe. However, saw a member posted few pages back that showed a ZTE Blade Qlux connected to webe and this device only supports band 40 based on the spec sheet. So perhaps can say that webe will be on band 40 eh? I'm struggling to find a USB modem that supports TD-LTE to connect to my router so that it can act as a secondary backup internet. Most likely will have to import in. This post has been edited by OKLY: Apr 11 2016, 11:00 AM |

as zte device website already come out with the related support software: http://www.ztedevice.com/support/a59afc39-...39674e1c9b.html if bundle price only RM50, RM100 juz take it, no headache but problem is only run b5 850mhz, unless p1 ready switch to fdd b7 2600mhz, abandoning tdd This post has been edited by coolstore: Apr 11 2016, 11:59 AM |

One have to becareful when checking on phone specs. Sometimes, same model can have 2 versions. Versions can be based on region.
E.g. Huawei P8. http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_p8-7006.php They have L09 and UL00. One version supports band 38, one doesnt. Coming back to P1. LTE been roll out based on TD-LTE 2600, which is B38. B40, which is 2300 is used in WiMAX. Therefore, phones which supports B38, should be able to pick the network information of P1. |

Hi guys/ gals,
Yup, like some of you said, would there be an option to MNP or maintain our phone number and plot into Webe ? Anyone seen a physical shop of theirs ? Or do we goto TM Shop to get the new SIM Packs ? Or perhaps P1 office to buy SIM Packs and do MNP ?? Cheers! Cannot wait for tomorrow |

If you replace the SIM with the old one, will you get back the tethering function? |

I would like to see cases where the unlimited quota package by webe only offered to tm unifi/streamyx subscribers
This will trump time After all, unlimited quota but lower speed yet offers mobility > stationary high speed internet |

QUOTE(marlick25 @ Apr 12 2016, 11:04 PM) Yeah it seems so. I actually prefer they do it that way. If truly unlimited without any strict restrictions, people would abuse it so much that the internet would be slow before we know it. Yeah, but no tethering probably betterPhone usage for unlimited quota does not consume much Unless you use it for download and torrent Maybe the ideal package is to offer constant 5mbps Or even better, pairs with Unifi under one bill and get the same speed with Unifi plan Streamyx? 8mbps plan follows, other plan including 384kbps gets 5mbps for webe (although they won't probably use their streamyx after that |

webe is still a telco... only with a twist.LEL
CODE In research reports on what Malaysian consumers value most from their Telcos – it’s coverage and pricing, followed by customer service. Maybe that’s how the industry got so uniform and bland. Yes, offer reliable service at great pricing and resolve customer issues, but beyond that – what else? If every player has the same pitch and basically offer comparable experiences, why choose or stay with one compared to another. Just why in the world would consumers love Malaysian Telco brands in this current landscape? I will be open about it. When we launch new P1, we want to be a well-loved brand. I wonder if the other Telcos have the same goal because brand love is not about widest coverage and cheapest rates while they certainly play a role. You don’t hear people saying: “Wow! I LOVE P1 because I can use the Internet in my house.” Or I LOVE P1 because of their zero upfront!” You definitely get a lot of HATE if you can’t provide service, or make a mess of billing. Delivering to expectations is ‘hygiene’, and as we already found out – Malaysians have rather low expectations of Telco brands. What does it take to ignite that lovin’ feeling? The experts say there are 5 reason why people love their brands. You see yourself, if not your better self in the brand and feel proud to associate with it. You share the brand’s philosophy and values. The brand is dependably consistent. The brand listens to you and tries its best to reciprocate. You feel like you have a personal relationship with the brand. I take these pointers to heart because the new P1 brand (all inclusive with product and service offerings) need to be different because honestly, Malaysia doesn’t need Telco No. 5 doing the same thing while spending a gazillion marketing ringgit to strongly persuade that our coverage is a few percentage points higher. It’s a surprise that Malaysians continue to tolerate our one-upping child’s play. Sorry, been guilty of this. This is where I think the new P1 can make a difference. We’ve had our faults, for sure. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll see that we’ve taken a hard look at ourselves and is executing a major transformation because we cannot bare to screw up a second time. Our ambition is to be a brand that Malaysian’s love. You’ll see our plans unfolding in the coming months. But I’d love to hear from you in the comments: taken from current webe CEO blog. |

what we can learn from today:
1. P1 is still a shity company. 2. Maxis user that still reluctant to port out, can choose either celcom, umobile or digi in peace of mind. 3. Current umobile, digi and celcom's dont have to port out. 4. Dont believe in webe anymore. |

The launching has received overwhelming negative comments on their FB page, the marketing has proven failed big time. Something has gone wrong somewhere.
Lesson from the Maxis fiasco, don't play hide and seek, don't finger pointing and don't blame and confront the netizen and potential customers. |

Well, big opportunity missed from them, especially everyone want to cut Maxis now, if they have just launched or revealed the plan, they will get a lot of sign-ups like instantly, but they are now getting more hates than ever, LOL.

Still in testing phase so they are not ready to launch the service. However I felt they could at least announce their plans and all to keep the hype going.

I think webe's objective is making the right move.....
they want to run this stunt publicity so that the public keep on hyping n talking so their name will be trend to the top..... maybe if we all stop talking about them and let the fire die off it self..... It wont hurts us but them self.... lol |

Taken from their latest Facebook post l
CODE One more thing: You may have come across "leaks" of webe services recently, and we did not comment before this as webe was only officially launched today. We can now confirm the "leaks" are not official webe plans, and they are not representative of what webe will be launching. But be rest assured, we are coming out with services that we have designed from listening to what the people of Malaysia have been saying. We are listening. We hear you. And we are doing something about it. If you would like to understand more why webe is starting with webe community first, instead of plans, products or services, have a look here - https://community.webe.com.my/highlights/we+be+webe._b2789 Thank you webe So... It's not an official subscription plan.. It's a plan made to test out their billing system before it goes up to public later. Open to select group of tm/p1 subs and to their staff. The screen are what the live testers actually saw. The leaks are just bad security.. Can't pull all blame on them not replying, they couldn't because they just announced p1=webe today. Anyhow, they already replied on fb Source: I have the plan. And I have friends who work there This post has been edited by saiaha: Apr 14 2016, 01:06 AM |

Leaked or not leaked, staged or not staged, the launching proven failure to win praises from supposedly a good deed communitity projects based on Webe FB comments. Enticing the attentions of mobile communications audience then suddenly talk about communitity projects 100% on its debut ? Wrong audience.

P1 name so bad so it rebranding as webe. But what the point rebranding itself when it still run by the same P1 people ? Let P1, webe and whatever their new name RIP.
Me prefered TM rebranding P1 to TM wireless something and run by TM own people. |

QUOTE(fat16 @ Apr 14 2016, 11:22 AM) P1 name so bad so it rebranding as webe. But what the point rebranding itself when it still run by the same P1 people ? Let P1, webe and whatever their new name RIP. P1 is bad not because they donno how to manage the company but they didn't have enough funding to burn as telco initial cost is super high .Me prefered TM rebranding P1 to TM wireless something and run by TM own people. Maxis loss 2billion before they start making profit . It is money that Green packet doesn't have . Now TM come into picture and it is another story . TM is cash rich and having solid income from existing broadband and international bandwidth |

Disappointing that they did not launch their service now.
The backlash they get is that even less people will be interested in their "community". They should have launched their service and then, only launch their "community". This way, they would have received more goodwill. Bad marketing. This post has been edited by WeddingStuff: Apr 16 2016, 11:53 PM |

Webe is using band 5-850mhz. It will share all infra with tmgo... They are going for coverage first. They haven't started putting up band 38/40 EnodeBs yet.

AFAWK, wireless broadband is unlikely to be cheaper than wired broadband. especially "unlimited" (quota) . |
