QUOTE(joevo2 @ Apr 11 2016, 08:36 AM) LOL hmmm im bad at explaining stuff... What i meant is, you received a call and you go to the home screen (while the call is still on going) then you decide to browse lyn forum and ignore the caller (while the call is still on going) In essence, simultaneous calling and usage of data Btw is it true that if we want tethering we need to pay another RM10? You can do tethering now? Thanks ya for providing so much info... if is really Rm10 for 20GB on LTE really gonna switch camp from TuneTalk. TuneTalk is good though, but WeBe seems better I can confirm that if u wanna call and surf internet at the same time, the signal changes (if from LTE) to 3g. And no, tethering is chargeable. On iPhone 6s, after I installed Webe sim, the setting "Personal Hotspot" is gone completely! As for the pricing for tethering, I saw it is about rm6 for two hours pass for my current plan (Rm10 per month)

QUOTE(luqman98x @ Apr 12 2016, 08:47 AM) Will webe support MNP from other telco? This option wasnt available last week when I registered for the sim. Well hopefully they will offer this service as soon as possible. QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 12 2016, 09:13 AM) Isn't tethering a function of the phone? How can a SIM disable it? I am not really sure about this, but after I install the sim, I was prompted to install APN configuration. Not sure if that APN setting disables the tethering function though.

QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 12 2016, 01:39 PM) This link has sample APN settings for various Malaysian telco... http://www.astronyu.com/manual-apn-setting...s-malaysia.htmlBut it doesn't look like it has anything to do with tethering Did you install any Webe app? If you replace the SIM with the old one, will you get back the tethering function? I didnt install anything else except for the APN setting. I am also curious, I deleted the APN setting and my setting for tethering is still gone. And yeah, if I install back my Umobile sim, the setting for tethering will reappear.

QUOTE(zaman_chem @ Apr 12 2016, 04:49 PM) It look they follow US style telco..u want tethering u pay Yeah it seems so. I actually prefer they do it that way. If truly unlimited without any strict restrictions, people would abuse it so much that the internet would be slow before we know it.

QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 13 2016, 01:52 AM) The page below listed several ways... http://android.stackexchange.com/questions...cl-wifi-hotspotYour Phone asks your network if tethering is allowedNot the case of our friend, as he is using non-customized iPhone. Your phone tells your network that you are tetheringNot so sure about this, but can detect =/= can disable One thing telco can do is to disable mobile network connection whenever it detects tethering. But from what our friend describes, the option to enable tethering simply disappeared. Inspecting the network packets for their TTL (time to live)Possible. But again can detect =/= can disable MAC address inspectionMAC address can't travel across networks, e.g. from wifi to mobile network TCP/IP Stack FingerprintingPossible. But again can detect =/= can disable Looking at the Destination IP/URLPossible. But again can detect =/= can disable This is getting very interesting Indeed it is. I just tried again using my Umobile sim, and tethering/hotspot works as normal. Really curious on how they manage to do something like this. Drill: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Apr 13 2016, 10:04 AM) Do you think the Webe sim is also capable of blocking data sharing other then iOS and Android such as 3G/4G USB dongle or MiFI devices ? QUOTE(JJKTP @ Apr 13 2016, 10:07 AM) Will it run on USB dongle (without MiFi capability) on a single PC? Cant answer your questions, as I dont have USB dongle lying around unfortunately...

QUOTE(queenc @ Apr 13 2016, 12:19 PM) From that webe community post approximately 15 hours ago, it is somewhat clear they are going to share about the projects. So who is to blame for all these hypes? LYN? People (who are they by the way) who leaked the website? Soyacincau? Only Amanz.my posted an almost correct stories..

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Sep 15 2016, 03:30 PM) the 4G speed is shit... i fixed to 3G can get a stable 8Mbps DL although UL only 2-3Mbps Your location and phone? I have been using this for more than 3 months, so far 4G connection is decent, better than Umobile at least.
