Just to double check,

Does TIME requires fibre cabled to be pulled into house unit even in condo?

I staying at Sterling condo and just registered for TIME fibre  hmm.gif

Yes, if your house havr not been containing any cable, a tiny 2C fibre drop cable will be pulled into your house.

Hey guys, Time installer just came and install in my house.

Want to ask something, my place @ Parklane OUG, the units are fiber ready so there is already existing fiber connecting to the home..no need for any drilling or pulling any cables,

but then I requested for the installer that I want the modem/router to be in my room, and he did the cabling all (used the white colour thin cable from the living room port and pull to the router in my room)

Total cabling length was 25 meters. He told me that 1 meter = rm10. Total damage = rm250

My question is:

Is the 15 meters free cabling as mentioned on Time's website covered for this? I.e. I pay 25-15 = 10 meters (rm100) or its not included and I have to pay the full amount of rm250?

Speedy replies are appreciated. Because the installer left already, he gave me his bank account number and ask me to bank in to him  hmm.gif
*
Hi Bro,

That is a fiber prelaid building, 15m cable rule does not apply. Those additional work that you requested will be between you and the Service Installer.

Thanks.

Hi, I want to upgrade my router (using std D-Link provided by TIME) and wonder if there is anything in particular I should consider?

Do I need to configure the VLAN IDs i.e. get a unifi/maxis supported router?

Am currently eyeing TP-link C9 or C2600 and wonder if they support TIME fibre broadband. There is no info about this on TP-link website. I currently subscribe to the 100Mbps package using PPPoE.

Any insight to this is highly appreciated!
*
Hi...no need to set vlan on your router... let me know once you purchase the router..will guide you to setup.

Very easy...you just have to configure your given username & password into the pppoe section.

Thank you.

Hi bro, anyone can teach me how to switch back to time default dns server, I recently changed the dns for my laptop and all other device IPv4/v6 doesn't have connection...
*
Hi, instead of specifying the dns, switch it to "Auto obtain dns from your service provider".

Mayb you need to detail out how is your settings ? There is no reason why it wont work.

Thanks.

Actually I change my laptop dns , then when I switch back to auto obtain the dns , but my router settings seems to misconfigure or somehow.. and I get a constant 192.168.0.1 as my IPv4 default gateway for all my other device .. using time original huawei router
*
Hi,

192.168.0.1 as default gateway is correct.

Try to reconfigure your pppoe settings, I will walk you through step by step if you need further help.

You may also screenshot your settings page & email to me, I will help you to check.

Thanks.

Now, Digi is just as slow response-wise, but it's because digi's mobile internet is rubbish and can't even get to a SG server without trouble. That said, it takes a direct route to Australia, via singapore, as TIME should!

Now, if I VPN to singapore and perform the same traceroute using TIME:

11   106 ms   105 ms   105 ms  103.4.115.248

Trace complete.

Again, it takes the direct route that TIME already should be taking.

There's something very wrong going on with how TIME is handling its routing to Australia right now, especially when I can, using a simple, non-gaming / non-performance VPN, literally halve the ping and shorted the hops required to get to the same IP.

Hi Bro,

I agree something's is terribly wrong about the routing, from Malaysia --> Singapore (shld stop here) --> HK--> US --> AU --> back to SG (103.4.115.248)..

Need help !

I just subscribed to time fibre 300Mbps today and need some guidances on how to setup another router to use the same network. I did google search and find out some articles on setting up 2 router to one network but i couldnt find the setting when access to 192.168.0.1. I also cant check others devices which connected to my network. The menu is simple and dont have setting option.

Please guide me step by step on how to setup 2 router via same network. I dont have IT background and not very about what they describe in the articles i search thru google.

I am terminating soon my unifi account and thinking to add my existing unifi router (D-link 615) to the network to help boost up the wifi signal in another room.

Maybe i wish to share my experience about time fibre. I tested the speed using handphone after the technician completed the installation and setup and can get about 150Mbps. They said using LAN should get about 290Mbps. I did not witnessed the LAN speed test conducted by them. The report put up by them shown 250Mbps. I suspect they had throttled the speed after they left my house cause i tested the speed few hours later and can get only 50+ Mbps. I have doubt also about the router they provided (d-link ac1200). 10ft away get 50Mbps and 20ft away get 10Mbps. No obstruction between this two spot. I will takes my time slowly to deal with time support regarding this matter. Anyway the speed definitely is far better compare to my unifi (30Mbps package).

Are you planning to setup a Repeater (Wireless)?

The DIR615 does not comes default with this feature, if you still want to do it, you need to flash it with ddwrt.
If you don't mind hooking up with a cable, then you may use this DIR615 as an wireless AP.

Email or pm me if you need further help.

Thank you.

hey guys, idk why but downloading stuffs is seriously slow..

but speedtest is fine..

any idea what to do?

im using chrome to download this file

http://softlay.net/operating-system/window...-32-64-bit.html

dl speed barely goes above 50kbps....

then using IDM it downloads at 100~200kbps..

EDIT: tried on Edge same thing. using LAN cable too..
*
I tried, I got it at averagely consistency of 235--245KB/s.

There is a shaping being done at the server., not your line.

Thanks.

hi got a quick question, im renovating my house and my electrician has pulled the fibre optics from the riser room to the place i want my router to be, concealing the wires.
Is there a particular data outlet port I need?

currently using a specific brand for switches, thinking of standardising them.
Anyone can help have a look at the models to see which is compatible with Times?

Hi,

Try to monitor for a few weeks to see if this problem repeats.

If so, pease login to the router via default (if you have not change) 192.168.0.1 and capture the firmware version.

Thanks.

how do you expect me to get a tracert from another ISP? i happen to ask random people in the game who aren't using TIME if their ping has changed and they said no. Its just affecting every player who is on TIME.

Also from the previous posts by other users, I thought we already ascertained that the issue is a routing change. Why does TIME need to burden its users by asking for tracerts from other ISP's??? I"ll try to get them but I fail to see how this will resolve anything.

Hi Calvin Bro,

Your Unifi packet is also traversing from MY --> HK --> AU --> back to SG.

P/S :
Can any of you guys please provide the traceroute results (that were FINE & OK) from previous connections to this Blizzard server (103.4.115.248) ?

2 possibilities, either Blizzard has done some misconfigurations OR the server is configured to act as cloud hosted platform which running through some dedicated direct connect services such as AWS.

Thanks.

It is now hoped that it will stay this way.

And should it deteriorate again, I expect TIME and their representatives, self-appointed and otherwise, use this as a reference point, instead of once again asking for endless traceroutes, testing examples and proof. I will remind you that it took over a month to have it sorted out.

Yes, confirmed it has been sorted out.

Hi Bro,

Please try to test using different speedtest servers and take an average result.

If the problem still persists, you need to make a report to Customer Service.

Another way you could check is to bypass the Router and hook it up directly to the ONU (aka Fibre Modem) to perform a test again.
If you need further help, feel free to buzz me.
