hmm......if loosen the timing, i think it will get higher.

check this out smile.gif
http://www.planetamd64.com/lofiversion/index.php/t22139.html

the average oc result for Infineon CE-5\6
2.0-3-2-7-1T - 200-220Mhz
2.5-3-2-7-1T - 240-260Mhz
3.0-3-2-7-1T - 260-265Mhz
3.0-3-2-8-1T - 265-300Mhz

seem that loosen the timing may help to boost the speed. icon_rolleyes.gif

if can get 250fsb 1:1 drool.gif

@ irangan, your proc now running at 3.9GHz sure very very shock in gaming one. thumbup.gif Hehe, won't feel the proc lagging at all.
*
yeah... no lag at all.. haha..

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 5 2007, 02:31 PM)
if its CE-5, your RAM still can go higher

At 230Mhz FSB 1:1, Windows can't boot, refer below

1) High chances your CPU hit wall, raise Vcore. Above 1.6V still okay 1, just don't go above 1.7v

2) Whats your Vdimm? Most CE-5 chips max out at 2.7v, increase also no gain at all
*
most probably my processor hit the wall already. 1.6v is the max i can go with my mobo. Vdimm is at 2.7v.

if your volts are flunctuating, its better to raise it a bit in the BIOS
You can calculate ler by seeing how low it will flunctuate on load from idle
Then u set it in BIOS
*
yeah my volts are fluctuating like mad doh.gif i raised my vcore from the stock of 1.525v to 1.55v already..and its changing from 1.568-1.616v shakehead.gif damn my lousy psu sad.gif

erm btw is it normal for the mhz to fluctuate also?cuz i've set my fsb to 150 which should be 2700mhz but when i open cpuz its like sometimes 2760mhz sometimes 2700mhz sweat.gif

your vcore flatuate is due to your PSU. get a better one la. Acbel is cheap and nice smile.gif

yes, cpu speed do flatuate but not so serious like yours. your mhz faltuate that much is directly due to your PSU and that is not good for your comp smile.gif

so in short if the volts or cpu speed fluctuates too much it'll damage the proc/mobo? sweat.gif

ASUS board tend to overvolt a bit during idle. Its normal throughtout my experience. However for my Abit board, terbalik, voltage goes down like hell >.>"
As for your Mhz a bit higher than expected, it is due to the spread spectrum. Normally it is recommended to disable it if OC but if its stable then let it be.

2 factors causes flunctuations, PSU itself and the motherboard. As for my case, its the mobo, if I get even a 500W also the same thing unless I do a droop mode which I dunno how to do >.>"

Even some TCCD got 300Mhz FSB 1:1 on Intel systems but sadly its quite picky

But mostly all rams works well with AMD, I dunno why

like what you said, asus mobo really overvolt when idle. when load, it drop back. hmm......

enable and disable spread spectrum not much different to me. i disabled it already.

even though the result is for amd, i think the outcome is almost the same. loosen the timing seems help to push higher, maybe irangan's ce-5 can go 250 at c2.5. now have good ram in hand, it better that find the max fsb 1st instead of tighten the timing. after reach there, tighten the timing to squeeze more. just my 2 cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

the thing is whether irangan's CPU can go or not only. HIs Vcore max at 1.6v which is a limitation. Vdimm no problems already at 2.7V

seems his cpu like stuck at 3.9GHz, if can push till 4GHz++ sure rocks. At 250fsb 1:1 sure can get 36s or less in super PI 1m. drool.gif cant wait for his result. smile.gif
