When I walked in into Maxis Sunway Pyramid last week to transfer ownership of my line (corporate to personal), and that's where they introduced me to my "special offer".

It was basically a One Plan RM98, with a RM20 rebate, and I was suppose to get 5GB of data as well. So when I signed up, they told me I will get 4GB of data first, and come 7th of April, another 1GB will be reflected in my quota.

I asked why so special, why only on the 7th of April this will be reflected? They said, basically its a early bird promo, where come the 7th, there will be adjustments to the plans offered.

I asked for more info on what other plans there are, and they said they don't know, just that the one offered to me is an "early bird" promo.

I guess its somewhat a way for them to retain me temporarily and hope I didn't port out.

The funny thing is that, due to their own miscommunication and lack of sincerity, I was ported out to Celcom yesterday. I would've stayed if their 'loyalty department' called me back in time, which they didn't.

Will see how this goes with Celcom. I already noticed that reception isn't as good in my own house.

And a minor gripe: Celcom doesn't allow call forwarding, not an option for First Gold it seems (I called their service line, not helpful at all).
I can live with that, just slightly annoyed the way the customer service consultant conducted herself, it's like, "I'm sorry, your line is not entitled to this call forward option". I asked if there's a solution, she said, "Nope, sorry". Really Celcom? Really?)

currently im using suftmore 50, rm50 permonth for 2Gb of data, call/sms is pay as u use.

got offer from maxis for rm98 maxisone plan, for 5GB data, unlimited call/sms., then i insist on give me black and white( email) plan package and t&C so that i call read them all 1st but they dont want to give and only give via phone.
so decided to dont want to take it as it might cheat me later on since i dont hv black and white to prove it later if got issue with this plan.

i think u can always walk in to any Maxis Centre in confirming this package, no harm trying if you feel that the new package suits ur needs.. it's always better to talk f2f instead of over the phone, if u want u can record down on video if there's no doc given to u.. good luck~

Called MAXIS hotline. It took me 15 minutes of listening to ads after ads before the call was picked up. The officer asked me to wait and stay until 7 April 2016 for the launch of their VALUABLE plans.

im working as telco vendor, and yes, this practice is not illegal, you can call it as promotion too, its up to them to give promo price or not.
in my line of work, them always do this filters for campaign, even for sms advertisement, they check ur all ur personal info, so this will be targeted campaign instead of random subscribers.

Yeah, that's a risk.

It's all verbal, and in the bill it's not a new plan, it's just one of the MOP variants with some unexplained "rebates" and "discounts" - they could just withdraw those in future and say they told you already.

Just hope Maxis will replace it with a proper call plan come April 7...

I lodged mine at SKMM & CFM. Maxis did offered me after that. However due to my plan is with contract. I still need to pay for it.

On the other hand, my gf who lodged complaint but did not get the same offer as I did.

SKMM & CFM dont really bother and usually they just chose to redirect back to Maxis own staff rather their third party CS

Exactly. The PR disaster maxis is facing is not the result of discriminatory pricing coz I do believe every telco practices it to some extent, but the disaster is how maxis handled it, which is the equivalent of "epic fail".

2 days to go. After all, the BLUE has extended its FIRST GOLD PLAN until 31st of May, the ORANGE HERO postpaid is still going on, similar to the YELLOW one. I will wait for another 2 days to see how VALUABLE the NEW MAXIS plans compared to the other competitors. I'm doubtful to take up any "secret offer" which is not publicized in their brochure/website.
