Actually, both is good... Only the 1296p on the Yi dashcam is interpolated...

I just noticed the quality of image in the xiaoyi dashcam really grainy compared to xiaoyi actioncam.

Both recorded at 2304x1296 but the details losses so much in xiaoyi dashcam, is it focus issue? It doesnt seem blur, it just lack of detail.

Man, car plate also hardly can see compared to xiaoyi actioncam. Guess dashcam meant to show video, rather than catching culprit.

Good thing it is f1.8, but it just hardly can obtain number plates.

Maybe because it's F1.8, too prone to bokeh. I also find it not that clear during sunny day compared to another dashcam that I had. It's really winning at night, it looks like sunny day at night. My other dashcam was F2.0 and day video is really much better. Night is so so while really dark is poor.

The Yi dashcam's 1296p is actually interpolated from 1080p that's why it's grainy... Anyway, no dashcam in the market now can see license plate clearly while the vehicles are moving...

Ok tq. I tried updating via app but it said download failed. Several times . not sure why. Will try manually updating later.

I think the interface is quite straight forward. I bought the Chinese language device as well and I can't read Chinese but I felt the settings is pretty straight forward.

Yes quite easy to understand by looking at the icons only. Also the app is in english and you can setup the Yi dashcam from there...

Can try cleaning the windscreen with glass cleaner and also use hot water on the suction cup. Fling dry. Stick again and see?

If still cannot, apply a very thin layer of petroleum jelly on the suction cup and stick on the windscreen.

Think it falls downs cause of the heat or the suction cup and windscreen is dirty.

I read that the petroleum jelly can make it stick longer than without.
