sound like its not worth for the money to spend.. biggrin.gif

Actually those expensive fans are quite pointless smile.gif Despite costing 2 to 3 times the price, it doesn't really give you that much of a difference in temps. It's just part of marketing. Of course they come in nice packaging with beautiful accessories so that's where all your money goes to. Many people don't understand and if you have tried some, you will get what I mean.

I own 2 of the AP 141 fans too, 14cm version, the airflow is very weak(63cfm) despite running at maximum speed, 1500rpm, of course its very noisy(cause placed behind the restrictive fan grills) plus the vibration noise = super loud.(thanks to my lousy flimsy cm690)

cannot use as intake fan because the airflow will be reduce further if use with dust filter...
duno about the airspeed...
prolly still usable if your casing still have plenty of space that still can put one or 2 of these silverstone AP fans, to push the hot air out of your casing.

Get a good casing, and some good fans, install them with correct position is the way to go.

Hi guys I want to ask where can i buy wire mesh for use as dust filter? I saw some 120mm ones for sale here, but what I need is for a 220mm fan so I'm hoping to get some mesh and make them myself. Any idea where can I get them nice meshes?

I suppose that would do... stretching it over a 220mm fan is pushing it I guess tongue.gif

hi guys, need few advice here, i hv corsair 650d all stock fans (2x20cm front n top, 1x12cm rear). i hv cm212+ stock fan and hd 6950 ref gc.
i very much like to address the noise level down a bit and thinking or changing the 212+ stock fan, as i think it gives some louder noise than the other fans. some folks here sell arctic f12 and one person sell gelid wing 12, which is good to replace the stock with price consideration ofcoz biggrin.gif.

another thing, r the corsair 20cm stock fan good performance/noise wise? cos i know jack about fans (bought the case cos it look good)

so, how do i turn down the noise smile.gif

Just change the 12cm fans to a AC F12 , the 20cm offers more air flow but still maintaining an acceptable noise/air flow ratio.

i have strike-x GT case and i'd like to attach 12cm and 14cm fans to all possible slots on it. Is Aerocool shark fan good enough as intake and exhaust fan? Also can you suggest me good fan to assist my hyper tx3 (push pull)?

Aerocool shark fans looks good with the lights on and the push quite a lot of air but they're very noisy without the adaptor... with the adaptor however the lights are a bit dim but it still push a generous amount of air.. if u want bling.. go for it.. otherwise choose a quiet fan wink.gif ppl here will recommend the F12 series

TX3... 92mm fans are pretty generic in the local market... just leave it alone with one fan cause u will see about 1C improvement only in it tongue.gif pity no one brings in the Artic F9.... sad.gif I would've stick with the Tx3 myself if not for the fan options

while its true that a fan that spins faster generates more airflow, it doesn't necessary means better performance...
if u wanna take a high airflow fan as an exhaust/intake fan there is still the noise to deal with.. a good fan will have a good balance of noise/cfm/rpm IMHO

and if ur looking at mounting a fan to a heatsink u will need to consider another factor... the static pressure

so I'd say that the "performance" of a fan could be differentiated by their usages in the PC and sometimes a good fan for exhaust/intake is not necessarily good for HSF/rad
