Short sell is you sell a stock first, and buy back later. If the stock falls, you earn the difference.

short selling is opposite of Margin trading.

Margin trading is u buy shares with money u don't have (i.e u borrow money)

Short selling, is u sell shares with shares u don't have (i.e. U borrow shares).

The company earning everyone know whats the level d......nothing to discuss edi....problem is ppl taking 2022 earning as current stock price......thats why need to see the price now and not worry much on the fundamental...

And the risk of a short sell is that your loss is uncapped, meaning their is no limit.
If buying a stock normally, you lose money if the stock falls. The limit is once the price reaches zero. If a sotck is RM 5, max loss is RM 5.

For a short, you lose money if the price goes up.
For an extreme example, let's say you saw Tesla in March 2020 at USD 72 and thought no way the company is worth that. You short the stock at USD 72 expecting it to drop. The price of Tesla today is USD 816. Calculate your total loss.
