QUOTE Malaysia has finalised an agreement to purchase 12.8 million doses of Pfizer Inc’s COVID-19 vaccine that will start to be delivered in the first quarter of next year, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. The doses will be enough to vaccinate 6.4 million people, with the initial shipment of one million doses earmarked for 500,000 frontline health workers. Muhyiddin added that Malaysia has also closed a deal with Covax Facility for its version of the vaccine, which would be enough for approximately three million Malaysians. All Malaysians will be vaccinated against COVID-19 without charge, Muhyiddin added. Muhyiddin said the American pharmaceutical firm has committed to delivering another 1.7 million doses in the second quarter of 2020, followed by 5.8 million and 4.3 million in third and fourth quarters, respectively. The vaccines will be dispensed based on priority when they arrive, with those in high-risk groups to receive these ahead of the general population, the PM said. “With the COVAX facility & Pfizer deal we now have doses for 30 per cent of our population. Source: Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to arrive in Q1 2021 and it’s free for Malaysians Guess what stocks to goreng next? |

Why LWC so insist to SBB TG shares everyday?
Wouldn't it better just holding the cash in hand for better investment and let the share price float? |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Dec 21 2020, 11:53 AM) The chips shortage is due to high demand plus port/container congestion. Thank you very much. But yes semicon/electronics is a stable growing industry. Covid19 has accelerated this trend even faster, and their growth is sustainable not just in pandemic. Here recycle the edge article again for you, see which part of the industry you are interested in: https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/cove...tor-value-chain I'm looking for long term investment. I think semicon has bright future. more countries going to ban fuel cars in next 10 years soon. the demand for semicon is going higher. Msia should invest more into semicon / technology sector if we want to become high income country. |

QUOTE(dickybird @ Dec 21 2020, 12:58 PM) in good tiems, they will earn and if they are leaders in the industry and some are, they will gain. we dont have chip foundries like TSMC here so we only have proxy exposure via the suppliers that you have mentioned. No, we don't have TSMC, Tesla, Apple, Alphabet, Facebook, Amazon and etc such companies that are monopoly and able to control the world.Just wondering other than oil & gas, palm oil and gloves, is there any company able to compete with other countries and still earning good profit in msia. QUOTE(Assassin's @ Dec 21 2020, 05:10 PM) Not sure if I even want to recommend any tech stocks right now since their price have become so expensive these days. I'm personally trying to diversify my portfolio to reduce reliance on tech. Thanks for sharing. Here's a list of tech stock that I'm personally holding: * UWC: Semiconductor and life science play (Intel and Agilent). * Greatech: Solar and EV play (First Solar and Lordstown). * JF Tech: 5G play and got partnership with Huawei. * MPI: China exposure with Carsem Suzhou. Tech stocks I wished I had before their price shot up: * Unisem: China exposure with its Chengdu plant. * D&O: Automotive LED play. If I had to recommend, I would probably say be on the lookout on Greatech. Right now its probably sliding down since there's no news from First Solar expanding its capacity, which it really rely on. And also Lordstown haven't even launch their Endurance truck. And if you want an in-depth analysis on Greatech fundamental, can read the article and also watch the video below which explains it in great detail. Behind Greatech's "great" number I notice the price is high at the moment too, will put it in watch list and do some research. |

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Dec 23 2020, 01:30 AM) Thank you both for your kind words. I am happy if it contributes some sort of value to the folks here. You have company. I wish we can go back to March 2020 and put as much bet as possible, but we can't.After all, like the namesake of a forumer here, I am here to learn from the wise. My day job has helped me this far, getting other people's experience will push me further. Going by the constant theme of gloves, I think I may be the only person here who has never bought any glove shares. And I feel insecure at the moment. Everything stock price standing at the high tide of the wave now. Perhaps holding cash is better for now. Just my 2 cents. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Dec 23 2020, 08:49 AM) Well, what you could do is prepare yourself for the next big one. The market will always be here. So when the next big one comes, make sure you are more than ready. Very good suggestion! Thank you very much! Meanwhile ... you can just practice by making fake trades. I still do myself. Challenge yourself. Find out what you can do, what you can't, what you are good at and what you are not. Just take a small note book, like 555... and if you observe a good trading possibility, mark down the prices on the notebook. And very important also, mark down why you are trading that stock. Observe the results. The success and the failures. It's a good practice to play simulation trade while not risking our hard earn money. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Dec 23 2020, 09:27 PM) EPF 18 dec... bursa is a very small pond and big shark like epf and ib can influence the share price easily.incr TG stake from 5.129% to 5.26% https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_inform...?ann_id=3116287 BUT... look closer: SBL = security based lending. i.e. EPF lent 14mil TG shares to some IB(s) to short sell, returned on 18 dec. 18 dec was the expiry date for MacQuarie call warrant c69. that is proof that EPF is a wolf, IBs are hyenas. let's see if the IBs will buy back more in the coming days. tmr is expiry date for RHB call warrants c73... and it was obvious a lot was bought today last minute at 6.73. next is CIMB call warrant c77 expiry 31 dec. there is no end to these warrants, is there?! as of yesterday, there is still 0.86% or 62 million TG shares short sold outstanding - bet they are from EPF loaned to some IB(s). we must learn how they manipulate the stock price. QUOTE(skty @ Dec 23 2020, 10:33 PM) be patience. sorry i don't get it.what they are doing is good. if we are doing it the correct way, we should be very happy when the price drop after we bought TG. they will help to make the price drop, at least I hope so. why we should be happy when the price drop after we bought? |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Dec 24 2020, 08:53 AM) we more or less know now. what sky meant was to be aware of the expiries of those call warrants, the changes in net short positions, and act according. there are still dozens of them active, may or not be in the money. however, by feb 2021, most of them wud become rather harmless as they were priced high to be out of the money even now. QUOTE(Boon3 @ Dec 24 2020, 09:27 AM) You really need to dig deep to what is being said and do your own analysis. Never rely on others. As I look back what I had learned from textbook about investment as a student long time ago were just some simple basic concept.1. SBL existed ... easily more than years. 2. To become a 'matured' exchange, Bursa needs to facilitate players/funds with tools such as shorting. In order to have short, the exchange needs programs such as Security Based Lending. Funds and companies that have excess stocks, in which they have no intention to sell, can lend out their stocks for funds and even etf to short. For EPF, SBL lending of securities is a great additional source of income. Why not? If the share is hot, lending can set a premium lending fee. Some shares lending charges is more than 10%. 3. Can it be abused? Of course. Anything can be abused. In the same perspective, if one argues that shorts can be abused, why don't they even address the issue that share buybacks can be abused? Yes? In real world there are much more factors that will affect the stock price. Cheers! QUOTE(skty @ Dec 24 2020, 11:31 AM) Because if you do it the correct way, you won’t all in in one shot. You will hope to be able to buy more at cheaper prices for your 2nd, 3rd, 4th or more batches. Oic.So it’s important to know how they press/push the price so we can strategies our entry/exit accordingly for this case. The best way to stress test your “know-how” and strategy is to find out their “usual” practice with those fund managers. I try to explain it in the most simplified way. Hope you get what I mean. It’s very interesting and more to learn once you get to know the game. Cheers! Some ppl have spare time to monitor the price and make decisions periodically. Some ppl don't have time to monitor and just looking for right time to enter and hold it for long term investment. I'm more like to hold for long term investment like 6 months or a year more if there is no big impact as alien attacking earth next time. This post has been edited by Kadaj: Dec 24 2020, 12:33 PM |

spmax share issued 2.72b, share price 6.15, market value 16.73b tg share issued 8.2b, share price 6.11, market value 50.10b Can't simply compare stock price, need to calculate the share issued and market value, which most people don't care. HereToLearn liked this post

I have my coffee ready for TG show.
Now only knowing it gets suspended till 10am. I'm wondering in the opening if the best buy price RM7 and best sell price RM5, how is the system going to match the price? depending the timing, who place the order first? This post has been edited by Kadaj: Dec 30 2020, 09:14 AM |

I will have my burger and french fries ready 15 mins before market close tmr.Unless Supermax takes a page out of TG book and suspend for 1 hour. The old old fart probably got a margin call today. Whichever counter he goes to, I'm definitely not there. Gonna see what's going happen at the end of year 2020. |

Who knows what 4.30pm has in store for us? Can TG hold the line? Or the attacker able to break the line RM6.00 today? |
