UBER Penang slash price and no minimum fare. Penang partner still can survive???
https://newsroom.uber.com/malaysia/penanganniversary/

Penang we've loved being in this city for ONE year now! And to celebrate, we've slashed prices by up to 20% - there's NO MORE minimum fare.

And we’ve loved being part of how the city moves. To celebrate, we’re making it more affordable to ride with EVEN LOWER FARES!

Starting today, for one month, Uber is now up to 20% cheaper – and with no minimum fares – there’s no better time to start riding and exploring the city!

The email did said something about a new and improved incentives.. lets see.. hmm.gif

"...Finally, to celebrate our first year, we would like to give back to both the partner driver and the rider community here in Penang. For partners, we would like to announce new and improved incentives to thank all of you for the hard work you have done throughout the last year. On the rider side, there will be a promotional price for the month of May that will help increase demand, which means more trips for all of you! .."

Too good for riders, but problem is drivers have to spend time, energy, petrol, car wear&tear for all those things with mediocre income. I doubt any drivers will continue to drive, except those like me having fun only, or driving low FC car like Axia, or despo for money peeps.

Good luck for those drivers that get cut incentives in those region but I will still using Uber for such cheap but maybe not driving in those region.

They dont have any contacts, you can only complaint in Uber support. Their first respond is fast but aftr you replied, the next respond will be 1-2 days.

Only by email as i think to much complaint and they dont want to listen to ppl shouting.

If your cash ride is cancel, and you entitled for cancellation fees, please go check your payout, as the cancellation fee (RM5) will considered as cash payment to you, will be deducted from your weekly payment.

Example

Those paying via credit card
Cancellation fee (charged to rider) - RM5
Uber fee (20%) - RM1
What driver earned - RM4

Those paying via cash
Cancellation fee (charge to rider) - RM5
Deemed collected by driver as cash payment - RM5, to be deducted in weekly payment
Uber fee (20%) - RM1
What driver earned - RM4 (reflected in driver income)
Instead of getting RM4 as cancellation fee, driver are charge RM1 for that mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif

I raised a complain on that, only they add back RM5 as other adjustment for me. So, all driver, please check your payout carefully

Unfortunately, till today, Uber apps still full of system bugs...example, SMART tunnel toll not reflected, which we as drivers need constantly check and monitor our payout

Hi guys, I drive a Mercedes A250 (2014 model) and thinking of trying to work as an UBER driver.

Will they classify my car as UBER X or UBER BLACK?

Also is it true that UBER BLACK will get less customers?

Thanks guys!

I've stop using Uber and now im using grabcar since they introduce cc payment. So far, the drivers at grabcar is wayyyyy better than Uber. Last years, grabcar driver sucks. Now they are much better compare to Uber. For the price, if traveling to a place with traffic jam, grabcar is cheaper otherwise Uber is cheaper by 20%. As for the app, I really hate grabcar app. Uber app is much more simple and easy to use.

I comment as a rider point of view, not driver la. Anyway I should maybe give Uber a chance again as I heard from the last driver that Puchong area is for them consider core areas. So should be less calculative drivers.
