Taking cue from the Incredible RM1 Rides campaign, GrabCar is lowering their base fare to RM1. Removal of minimum charge, therefore, short rides below 5km will no longer be subjected to the RM7 minimum fare.

QUOTE(kidmad @ Apr 18 2016, 10:00 AM) can we choose riders as in only allow credit card ones? don't you think cash is too much of a hassle? You CAN'T choose and you WON'T know the the Uber rider is CASH trips UNTIL you swipe the START TRIPS button. There is a grey button above the Complete Trips ask you to "Collect Cash" before you can swipe the Complete button. QUOTE(propusers @ Apr 18 2016, 10:13 AM) What are the info of rider show in the app when I got the request (before accept)? Nationality, Payment mode, can know before accept? Location, Rating etc.. You won't know how he look, what he wear, what payment mode, how many of them, female/male. Just no.

QUOTE(jacky91 @ Apr 18 2016, 08:30 AM) no...as in no more minimum fare (RM7) even though short trip riders pay as they use..but they also mentioned they modified the fare as well..haven't check the details. I see meaning can be less than rm7 looking at all how u guys talk. But then how less can you go? My home to my place of work is still rm8. Around 3.5km distance.

Uber is becoming a farce in Malaysia. Why are they allowing cash payments?
"No cash, no tip, no hassle When you arrive at your destination, just hop out—we’ll automatically charge the credit card on file. And there’s no need to tip."

QUOTE(jacky91 @ Apr 18 2016, 02:33 PM) Asia's market not yet mature enough maybe? start this week, Singapore Uber reduce fare around 15%, reduce base fare to S$3.00... Malaysia base fare reduce again soon?? http://www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/2.../uber-disruptedThe ride-hailing app reduced its prices in the city-state by about 15 percent this week amid fierce competition from local startup Grab and more aggressive strategies from existing taxi companies. From April 13, Uber's private car service, UberX, will charge S$3.00 ($2.20) as its base fare, lower than the cheapest flag-down rate of S$3.20 for local taxis. Subsequent per kilometer charges have also been revised downward. Uber may be forced to do the same in other parts of the world, where outfits such as Lyft and Gett are nipping at its heels.
