Can anyone recommend me a virtualdub alternative that is able to read fraps video and audio ?
For some weird reason, virtualdub never fails to crash my windows each time i am compressing a video for youtube from a fraps'd video source. As far as I know, fraps uses their own codec/uncompressed codec and IIRC alot of video editing softwares like vegas or premiere pro are unable to process the audio from from a fraps'd video source. The only method that I know of is compress it using vdub and then load the compressed video on to either of the retail video editing softwares. Ever since installing Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, virtualdub always crash/freeze my windows without fail every single time. So..what is the alternative to virtualdub that can read fraps video and audio This post has been edited by Nosferatu: Feb 26 2011, 03:41 PM |

MeGUI, or the other alternatives are, SUPER or Mediacoder, These are called front end, the back-end program which does all the decoding stuff is libavcodec IIRC.

Hey guys whats the best video format converter software that fully utilize Nvidia CUDA technology? I find that even with Sandy bridge 2500K CPU it is still gonna take a while.

Badaboom (nvidia, aint free) or Mediacoder (use cuda), but dont expect good quality from them....
IIRC x264 with fast-preset encoded video quality still better than the above 2 Pray to god and hope X264 will use DirectCompute or OpenCL in the future OR, intel quick sync http://www.intel.com/technology/quicksynch/index.htm kekekekekek~! QUOTE(syakirin @ May 16 2011, 02:21 PM) You could try MeGUI and use x264 to compress, but dont except you can retain the original quality if you wan to convert down to 50mb, you have to use very low bitrate/high compression and you might need to resize to video to 480p or 320p. |

it is because the bitrate setting was not set properly or they didn't set it to a lossy format, it happens
Lossless files are HUGE |

hi guys, i've been watching avi files via usb thumbdrive on my Philips HTS3510 home theatre system. i want to watch HD videos with 5.1 audio (encoded).
i have a few 720p/1080p videos but in mp4 extensions. can't play on the HTS system. was wondering if i convert to .avi using a proper converter, would it work? i'm very much more interested in having the 5.1 audio for my surround system. appreciate your thoughts |

QUOTE(spikeee @ Sep 21 2011, 12:17 PM) hi guys, i've been watching avi files via usb thumbdrive on my Philips HTS3510 home theatre system. i want to watch HD videos with 5.1 audio (encoded). You could try Divx to transcode the h264(most likely) to Divx MPEG4 ASP video, since the Philips HTS support up to Divx only.i have a few 720p/1080p videos but in mp4 extensions. can't play on the HTS system. was wondering if i convert to .avi using a proper converter, would it work? i'm very much more interested in having the 5.1 audio for my surround system. appreciate your thoughts You can leave the audio untouched so it wont suffer quality degradation from transcoding, and probably can mux it back to the final transcoded video. Or just connect your pc to the HTS via HDMI, but i have no knowledge/experience about it, FFdshow support HDMI/SPDIF pass-trough so you could try it as well, configuration might be complicated, but it will save alot of time compare to transcoding a video that usually will take 10~20 hours that depending on your cpu processing power. |
