*
The video u copied to ur player might be not compatible with the decoder, so ur player couldnt recognize it.
Does the player u bought come with any video converter software?
what is the name/brand of ur mp4 digital player?

u should post screenshot about the amv converter error message. nod.gif
the codec info about the source video and the windows machine spec might help alot.

if ur player accept mp4 container, there still a ffmpeg for mac machine,
but ...amv is weird a/v container sweat.gif doh.gif

Thanks...

But I din see the second link got show RM change to AVI...
*
SUPER (C) supports the conversion (encoding) to most of the above mentioned formats. To list few examples :
drag & drop any audio or even video file and extract ONLY the sound (audio) by converting it to
mp2, mp3, ac3, aac & amr_nb (the last 2 are playable on Nokia) format.
convert any type of video <--> to your favorite PocketPC or Mobile phone 3gp/3g2 format (or vice versa).
convert Flash containing FLV video to any other format.
convert RealMedia files to any other format. whistling.gif
Well if u mean direct stream copy(no conversion is done), its impossible since there is no Real vfw codecs for avi doh.gif doh.gif

Actually I have a few in my lists but is not freeware...

Aiks tongue.gif I believe mediacoder and super, both also can perform a/v conversion from any container to avi, of course including sound, and both program also are free too.
well avi can contain almost any a/v formats, which format u wan?

hi wanna ask...

i use virtualdub to add subtitles on *.avi files..after that i use Xvic mpeg4 codec to compress the files...later i use nero 6 to convert the files to vcd..

but the results is bad...is i did something wrong? or should i use another software to convert the avi files to vcd?
tq
*
u transcoded the video file twice "original video" > mpeg4 > mpeg1, like that the final video quality sure degraded alot la doh.gif

windows media player DXVA(directx hardware acceleration) only support wmv/vc1 IIRC..
for mpeg2, u must make sure ur GPU support mpeg2 dxva, and its only work with certain commercial decoder(cyberlink/elecard moonlight).

I want to ask on xvid configuration normally set target quantizer or target bitrate for encoding a better quality video. What value should be input there.
*
if u wan better quality, use 2 pass encoding mode, single pass quantizer and cbr mode(target bitrate) is not recommended for normal use.
if target quantizer is 2 = highest quality, but file size is unpredicatble.

I'm using 2pass encoding mode on virtualdub and avidemux encode the same file same setting but quality were not so good on virtualdub. I wonder izzit the target quantizer or target bitrate causing the quality drop or the packed bitstream.
*
2 pass encoding mode dont use target quantizer or bitrate. target bitrate for 2 pass endoing only exist on command-line version of xvid encoder.

packed bitstream have nothing to do with the quality, but avoid to using it, it will make ur video file unplayable with other mpeg4 video decoder execpt xvid/libavcodec.

im sure u are using old version of xvid vfw encoder coz xvid developer already removed the "packed bitstream" option.duh doh.gif

make sure u are set the right file size, use default settings, set 2 pass log file location,
and the most important, do not alter any settings between 2 pass.

dont waste ur time if u wan to convert it to hdvd9 lol, the quality would still suck if converted to hdvd9 mpeg2/h264/vc1 video.
unless ur rmvb has resolution 1920x1080 and over 20mbp/s of quality.

Export to wav to avoid quality loss, just make sure the wav file is 44100Kz and 16bit 1411kbps, nero or windows media player should be able to burn it to Audio CD.

I got the HD video
but the problem is, my computer lag when playing that video......

so, I hope can convert that video first
then only watch it...... sweat.gif

thats the software I want tongue.gif

iirc real video encoder is very slow compare with other encoders, if u cant play the HD video in real time, then transcoding it to other video format would take 3x or more time to finish it.
mind to tell the HD video use what codec? u should find a highly optimized video player to playback the HD video instead of transcoding it.
