hi guys, i've been watching avi files via usb thumbdrive on my Philips HTS3510 home theatre system. i want to watch HD videos with 5.1 audio (encoded).

i have a few 720p/1080p videos but in mp4 extensions. can't play on the HTS system.

was wondering if i convert to .avi using a proper converter, would it work? i'm very much more interested in having the 5.1 audio for my surround system.

oh my 10-20 hours :S :S sigghhhh problem is that the philips doesn't have a HDMI in so if i connect my pc to the lcd tv via HDMI, i won't get mhy surround 5.1 sound.. oh wait - unless i connect RCA out to the HTS.

but then that wouldbn't be surround already, right??
