Finally learned how to use the dell card reader to transfer pics..

Look at the noctua positioning below.

Contrary to what the support guys said in an email exchange about this mobo and how the unit is made to fit almost any mobo, this unit just could not be positioned facing the rear, as this would clash with both ram and 3d card.

The fan had to be on this side rather than behind, or it would suck the back of the radeon.

And right now, the two slots of ram closest to the noctua is essentially unusable because of the fan.

Still, the temp is alright, 44 C (no oc) if the room has no air-con.. just that the position is not ideal to maximize airflow and cooling.
*
Actually you measure yourself already can know it will crash with the GC and Ram for sure if wanna put as push to rear... hmm.gif your mobo...even with HR-01, TT BTVX also will have problem with your GC... sweat.gif as for the Ram slot, the total ram high + Ram slot should be more than 30mm isn't it...the height from the HSF base to the bottom of fan is about 27.5mm according to Noctua box description...so adding in the socket height also is just around 30mm+ only, so it is true that the ram slot will unuseable...

from the photo you show, it is impossible to put the fan as push, but pull also will do about the same lor I think...not much different as your is put as 90 degree... may I know what fan is that at the rear? how much is the CFM? If high CFM, then don't need to worry as the rear fan will be have enough power to suck out all the hot air, if low CFM, then maybe will have a little bit problem, where there might have some hot air trap between HSF and PSU... the PSU fan normally is low rpm isn't it (correct me if I am wrong...), so it can't help much in suck out the hot air... doh.gif

Besides, try arrange a bit your cable there, abit messy, which might disturb a bit your air flow... icon_rolleyes.gif

Bro irangan,

Just read about the NH-U12F description you have on the first page and saw this :

Using the supplied Ultra-Low-Noise adaptor, the noise level can be lowered to only 8dB(A)!

What is that Ultra-Low-Noise adaptor and what does it do?Is it available for sale?

I remember last time read from a review somewhere about it, it is a cable which have a resistor inside which will make the fan to spin slower, that is, lower rpm, so the noise will lower too...but of course the CFM will lower too... but it will still work great...but I think that require you have a great air flow casing and you are really look into very very silent setup... icon_rolleyes.gif correct me if I am wrong... notworthy.gif

Oh..if thats the case, then not good for me..lol..I thought it was able to do the same CFM at much lower noise level.lol..Anyway 17dB should be fine with me.If i wanted something slower, i could get a fan controller..THe S12-1200 doesnt come with a fan controller isit?

Using a fan controller to slow it down mean it will have lower CFM lor...it is same with using the adapter except one is permanent and the other can change... and yes, the S12-1200 does not come with fan controller, they use the adapter instead of fan controller... and you need to purchase it separately, it not come together... icon_rolleyes.gif

How much you think it will cost if purchased seperately and how low will the CFM become if use with the adapter?

I will ask my supplier about this. Actually even the fan running at full speed, you wont even hear any sound from it unless you put your ear beside the casing. haha..

So are you sure those adapter worth that money smile.gif

Yup, there was no other position possible.

The back fan is spinning at 42 CFM, it's just a generic cooler master type. I don't think the psu fan is anything special either, very likely it's low rpm. I don't know if the cables can be arranged more neatly, as two ends are pulled a long way below for the gc and hdd but I'll try. sweat.gif

Here's another closer look of the ram slots being overwhelmed lol,

The rear fan do not have enough power to suck out the hot air... get something higher, maybe a 60+CFM or 80+CFM or if can get something more than 100CFM will be better, but the noise level will be higher for high CFM... just choose something your can bear with... if you want some suggestion, I would say buy the Silverstone FM-121...have 110CFM+ at full speed, have fan controller which you can adjust the fan speed to meet your noise level... icon_rolleyes.gif

1) As your mobo is using K8 (939) socket, so no choice, can only install vertical, that is push to PSU... doh.gif becoz the back plate given only enable you to install vertical... I am sorry for previous user who using K8 socket if I make some mistake in given the wrong info on how the NH-U12F can be install... notworthy.gif

You can try to measure the length from middle of the socket screw to th ram slot, if it have more than 63mm, then should be no problem...besides, from the info I get from the FAQ in Noctua website, NH-U12F design to be higher a bit so that it will not crash with ram, but from Polaris experience, it seem will be crash by the fan... doh.gif

2)Noctua fan should be no problem to install as push & NC-U6 can be install, as for Noctua fan as pull, you need to make sure there will be have about 20mm space between your mobo edge to PSU... or it will crash for sure... if your casing is capalang one, then no hope for fan as pull, if otherwise, then can... icon_rolleyes.gif

Above statement is just my estimation, you should try to measure it yourself, use the information given in Noctua website to measure it before purchase... icon_rolleyes.gif
