I took the biggest gamble of my life last week. Got to know someone who wanted to let go a 55 inch B8 for RM4k. Described as a used but like new condition. Decided to take a look myself. Indeed it looks like new. No sign of dust or anything. The back plastic on the panel is still attached. No original box. Only comes with the magic remote, manual, and local LG warranty card. But of course its not valid. No shop or dealer stamp there. Only personal warranty of 5 months is given. Played around with it and it looks good to me. And i also checked how many "hours" the unit is on. It states 2 hours. So without thinking anymore i just say confirm and take it. Bargained a little bit more and at last got it for RM3.7k. The gamble is of course the warranty. I guess i have to babysit this TV as careful as possible. By the way it has been one of the best week in my life. Watching TV is never the same again smile.gif

Well if you are happy with the result that is kind of an unbeatable price for a fairly new OLED model , the B8 was released into the market later than C8 last year .

As long as there is no obvious uniformity issues and other pixel problems , just enjoy your new TV .
I was just pointing out the total run time can be manipulated , so regardless of what the previous owner told you he may have just reset it .

I am unsure if the factory reset of the TV will change the reading in the service menu but I vaguely remembered the last time I did , it changed the UTT to 0. There is also a separate reset UTT (usage total time ?) setting in the service menu .

the easiest way is to check on your total power time , goto setting > general > about this tv > TV information > Total power on time

again , factory reset should solve the problem . Some of the roots files may have corrupted during the update.

Bad luck happened on my beloved 55C6, the screen panel become flickering as attached. After contacted LG, the LG technician said the only way is replace the OLED panel which cost RM5400 after checked with LG officially 😖.

I always having problem with LG TVs, whereby before i boughr the OLED TV, my previous LG 42" Led TV also got panel problem, but luckily that LED TV got 3yrs warranty, hence i got LG replaced the new TV for me. But very unfortunately my C6 was only came with 2yrs warranty and it broke at 2.5yrs after the purchased date.

Hence, i would like to know whether LG going to have 3yrs warranty for its OLED TV? Since OLED TV is very expensive and fragile. I know that LG Singapore is given 3yrs warranty to its OLED TV, I hope Malaysia LG will do the same.
