Talking about Netflix, I'm thinking of committing 1 year worth of subscription.

Pity Netflix Malaysia officially don't allow me to prepaid up to 1 year while allowing me to save some moolah.

I do need the Premium package as got a 4k TV at home.

But RM51 per month feels so damn steep.

I saw soem Ebay sellers selling like a code for 1 year worth of subscription, I wonder how trustable are them

Find 4 person to subscribe together.

RM51/4 = RM13 per month

Sad, it used to work fine for me at my old house with no problem. Now suddenly got problem sad.gif

What brand TV do you recommend for Netflix?

if u can't get the tv netflix to work, u can always get an androidbox (rm300-600), use netflix app.
but most boxes can only do SD, can't do HD or UHD.
a few can, but are expensive like RM1.5k and above.

new TV, i think all new 4k UHD models with netflix app from big brands are fine.
can always google...
https://devices.netflix.com/en/recommendedtv/2017/
the highest priced ones with HDR Dolby vision should be able to handle all Netflix 4k, HDR, DV videos.
assuming u have the internet speed, of course.

Buy the premium account using canadian dollars, 11.99 cad ~ rm40
Or mexican peso, apparently they're the cheapest country for netflix account

Hi bro, thanks for the tip but I've spent an hour with 3 different Netflix customer support personnel yesterday and I've tried all that you recommended.

I think my problem is that I cannot sign out or deactivate Netflix from my Sony TV (KDL-48W600B). When I get the error message and click on "More Details", I can only "Reset" the app which gives me the error again. There's no "Sign Out" or "Deactivate" option for me. Even when I do the "up, up, down, down, left, right, etc." thing I don't get the pop-up to sign out or deactivate.

I have reset my TV to factory settings but then it doesn't log me out of my Netflix account, which is weird. Factory settings should wipe out all personal/login details.  Anybody know how to do clear data/cache with this TV model? There's no option to install/reinstall the app on this TV.

I've also checked that the TV firmware is latest and Netflix SDK version is latest.
*
hmm.gif Done a fair bit of troubleshooting I see.. Yeah, it is weird that a factory reset doesn't truly factory reset the device. How about you try switching regions.? For most Samsung TVs one is able to switch regions and gain specific app versions that my be unable if left at Malaysian region.

I'd say, get a Samsung.. Alternatively, there's Google chromecast.

Yeah, it's been bugging me for the past few days. When I call Netflix, they say it's the ISP's fault it's not a stable line so they ask me to reset the my connection from ISP side (don't really understand). When I asked Unifi to do this, it still didn't work.

I can't even get iFlix to work as well (refer to this THREAD). So can only watch HyppTV crappy channels now bangwall.gif

Scared to buy new TV in case it still won't work! Could it be router issue?

Could be the router.. Could be the device as well... Typically with such services and hardware, compatibility is key. My TV is a 2014 Samsung set running the older Smart Hub OS.. Watching Netflix right now.. Smooth 1080p with DD5.1 to Samsung HT (also 2014 set).. Unifi 30Mbps + stock TM router.. Cable connections to TV, HT & Minix Android box... Zero issues on media playbacks of any kind.

I noticed in the other thread that you own the MiBox and tried iflix on it and the TM supplied STB box.. On both boxes, it's public knowledge how much I despise them.. puke.gif .. So unfortunately, you may be looking at getting another device.. a proper one. Got budget? Grab the Nvidia Shield (undisputed champion).. It'll do Netflix @ 4K HDR bla bla and a bunch of other media playback goodies.. Want something on the simpler and cheaper side primarily for Netflix/Hulu, etc? Grab a Chromecast.

those found on ebay are usually stolen accounts, or accounts bought with stolen CC
buy at your own risk

You could contact the content creators and complain to the government who censor this, censor that.... Good luck with all that... laugh.gif

These are not official... Fairly certain that Cotton Diesel is aware of alternatives, but would rather stick to legit means.. Not everyone is willing to bend the rules. smile.gif

No problemo...Figured that's the scenario given that majority of the show's followers would have already seen the 4th season earlier in the year when it released. Currently foaming at the mouth, hoping season 5 is planned and released. Probably in 2018 (given past release dates). Personally, I'm kinda in-between at the moment. Sailing as a pirate primarily at night just to stick it to the man. Else, I purchase legit copies and always go see movies at the cinemas when they launch. Still own a Netflix account at least 5 years now, so figured, been paying some of my dues.. tongue.gif ..

Good for you bro. Also i tend to avoid using vpn as I'm doing my part to make Netflix notice its presence and users in malaysia's market. And hoping more content to be add officially. Just my personal preference.

My sailing days as pirate also is over
came on dry land watching everything thru the box "legitly"

Amazon firestick + lifetime getflix account + Netflix + Amazon Prime + Crunchyroll + HBO + any other free VoD apps
it pretty much fixed any hunger I had

Btw, Getflix usually works on browser, but not on apps, but sometimes you can get lucky, apps may works for a few days to few weeks, then the waiting game again.

You are still not fully legit yet. The fact that you are using getflix to watch overseas contents you are not entitled to, you are still a pirate biggrin.gif

Me, I am sailing the black seas, unless I strike 1st price in the lottery.
