BUMP ~

Hi Sifus,

Thought of getting a laptop around 2.5k.

1. Preferred Brand: I have few in mind: Toshiba/Dell/Asus/Lenovo but with good reason I welcome all sorts of recommendations.
2. Budget: Around 2.5k. Can re-think with good reasons.
3. Usage: Surfing/Playing high def(including bluray) quality movies(sometime through extended screen)/SideUsage -> Minor gaming:Dota2/D3.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Will look at 14" first. If needed, probably 13" or 15". Full HD if possible.
5. Other preference:
a. Durability (I am stil having Toshiba = durability kinda thought, though Satelite design sucks nowaday)
b. Good/Latest spec possible on Processor/RAM/Storage (not preferred SSD, who knows when it might die on me) which may affect the response of the laptop - have to say this as right now it jerks while typing with company laptop =.= really setting me off sometime.
c. Good warranty / after sale service (thats why I have Dell in mind)
d. Back lit keyboard
e. Comes with Wins 10

Side story:
1) Helped a friend of mine on searching for 2k budget laptop and I got these:
-> Satellite L40-B202GX (PSKQEL-005001)
-> Lenovo G50-80 i5-5200U ver
-> Asus X455LF/LJ
Should be slightly better than these.

2) List so far:
-> Toshiba L50-A100 (Pro:740M/Cons:15"/Wins8/2.4kg)
-> Asus K401UB (6th Gen) (Pro:14"/1.65kg/Wins10/Cons:940M)

Thanks !
Dirty

all Sifus,

i am comparing 2 model
1. U41-70 Ultrabook -14” / I5-5200U / 4GB / 256GB SSD / N16V-GM 2G / W10H
2. Asus K401LB-FA003H - 14" / i5-5200U / 4GB / 1TB / GT940 2GB / W8.1

one with SSD, anodhter with great graphic card.

both the price are about the same. mainly for paperwork, online surfing, watch movie, and little game like the Sims 4.
*
if i were you, i choose the laptop that came with ssd
for the sims 4, the N16V-GM graphic card can play that game with medium setting in hd resolution

5. Other preference: doesnt heat up overtime
transformer book and other detachable also can

and it also has battery life up to 8 hours

Asus ZENBOOK UX305FA comes with 128gb ssd and very light with its 1.2kg weight and with sleek and elegant design that's suitable for a lady but unfortunately it doesn't come with other storage like 500gb sata only the ssd are available
this problem can be overcome buy using external hardisk if still need a huge storage.

HP Pavilion 15-ab238TX are sufficient for your requirement but if possible can try upgrade your ram up to 8gb which is good for autocad usage.

iinm illegear z5 with gtx970m comes with 5.5k price tag sweat.gif
if you really care about after sales service, choose dell inspiron 15 7559 since dell are famous for their excellent warranty and after sales service compared with asus which is notoriously known for their bad after sales service (in malaysia only)
if you not really care about those thing, you can opted Asus ROG GL552VW instead asus g551 where Asus ROG GL552VW has up to date specs (skylake processor and DDR4 ram) and it comes with 128gb ssd too
and if possible can try to upgrade ram up to 8gb since games nowadays are starting demand for 6gb above to play smoothly.

1. Any good after sales warranty(at least 2 years) brand (Owned a 7447 1080p HD i7 but sold due to small screen size and low performance GPU)
2. Budget RM4.8k below
3. Usage solely ultra setting gaming without monitor
4. Preferences : Bigger than 15" screen MUST IPS Display, bigger the better, at least 960m GPU, at least core i5 latest generation CPU, long battery life, good cooling system, future proof ( at least 3 years).

you can try take a look at Lenovo Ideapad Y700, not bad after sales service, long lasting battery that can last up to 6 hours for browsing, and has a good cooling system but i cant guarantee that 960m can be a future proof till 3 years unless it was 970m or 980m that can be future proof till 3 years hmm.gif
if u insist to have a very good after sales service, Dell Inspiron 15 7559 is the answer but bear in mind this laptop doesn't come with IPS panel.
