Last time I wanted a high end laptop, but somehow I think that it is not necessary to do so. Because I'm thinking bout <insert some word> soon.

1. Preferred Brand: Not a brandfag. Just prefer brand with superb warranty policy
2. Budget: MYR 3k if possible
3. Usage:
- Dual Boot (Windows + Ubuntu)
- VMWare (Windows + Redhat Server)
- Embedded Linux / Embedded C Projects
- Digital Design projects (VHDL or Verilog)
- Circuit Design Softwares (ORCAD PCSpice / Proteus)
- Rasp-Pi development
- Dota2 and CSGO only
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15"
5. Other preference:
- Intel + Nvidia combo. Not into AMD since I already have an AMD combo desktop at my hometown
- 8gb x 2 RAM. VMWare kills lots of RAM
- Preloaded with original Windows. #SupportOriginal

1. Preferred Brand: No specific brand, but is an Asus user and am very satisfied.
2. Budget: Below 4.5k
3. Usage:

- 3D design software like (Solidworks, Creo Parametric, Rhino, 3D printers, photoshop)
- A heavy torrent downloader & uploader, online user and video user (720p minimum).
- Occasionally convert HD movie to lower quality (unsure if it counts as video rendering?)
- As for game, not a heavy gamer but i wish to play the below games (once a while player/holiday player):
Star Wars Battlefront (new)
NBA 2K16 (steam?)
Droid4x (android emulator)

4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15" (wanted 17" but my bag is not big enuff ahaha)
5. Other preference/research:

- Battery life --> can i chose those that can adjust between battery saving and high perf mode? Or since the specs are too high it does not make any diff?

I tried survey recently, and i found these 2 kinda fits the standard gaming laptop nowadays?
Unsure if my usage is not as high as the spec of these 2 laptops
Also the shop i saw is giving 8gb ram for free for CNY deal
MSI GE62 6QC Apache
MSI PE60 6QE

I just wanna know whether i have any other options or choices besides these 2?
WIsh to have some options and also opinions from fellow sifu here.

Just wondering, based on my requirements it is more recommended to get that Illegear over that MSI?

Hello! Am posting here after using and loving the Lenovo Y480. Time to upgrade/change!

1. Preferred Brand: I'm fairly comfortable with Lenovo/Dell, but any brand with superb warranty policy/reliable tech support will do
2. Budget: <RM3000
3. Usage:
- Dual Boot (Windows + Ubuntu)
- BATTERY LIFE!
- Schoolwork consists of a fair bit of creative work and word processing.
- Back-lit keyboard will be awesome
- Good speakers (loud and clear)
- Keyboard/touchpad experience important
- I've quit gaming, unlikely to touch one so heavy graphic performance is not so important
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: <17"
5. Other preference:
- I'm thinking of IBM Lenovo Thinkpads, if possible please recommend specific model
- No touch screen if possible
- Build quality also important
