Appreciate if any one can help with these questions:

1) Does a person needs medical and PA insurance if the company he/she works for provides both?

2) If a person has 36 CI insurance but passed away due to natural death, what will the insurance company pay the person?

3) What happens to an insurance payout if both the insurance owner and beneficiary pass away same time and no wills?

1. Will your company continue to cover you after retirement ? If yes, then don't need to buy insurance, otherwise get one, you'll most likely get laid off if you're no longer of used to the company if you're taking MC everyday once you're terminally ill

2. Yes, you'll be paid for natural death as the death sum assured is always the main coverage of an insurance policy, the critical illness coverage is a rider.

3. It will go to the unclaimed pool of funds in the insurance company.

Agreed too. So if someone don't invest their money... the value may not be able to catch up with inflation. But this all depends on What they want la.

Super safe leh... Keep in vault.
Yeap, best. FD no risk, just cant enjoy if interest low.
Just so you know... Insurance companies are also protected by PIDM DOUBLE THE AMOUNT. Can you see why is that? wink.gif
You didn't get cheated. You just assumed "projected" means "guaranteed".
OHYEAAAH. SIGNED MY EPF TO THAT. biggrin.gif

Here's my two cents:

While EastSpring Small Cap Fund is overall a good performing fund, it is unwise to compare it or even replace it with your EPF.

Simple reasoning:
EPF has a very very low risk compared to equity funds. For the same category, a steady return of 6% is really quite good.

While EastSpring Small Cap is exciting, it is after all a higher risk fund.
By right, I would include EastSpring Small Cap into my equities mix, and not my EPF.

Okay, two cents dah habis. Nak lagi kena top up. laugh.gif

Committed suicide is not claimable in medical card, this is common exclusion throughout the whole industry. However, it's covered under life plan.

In short meaning to say that if committed suicide, please make sure pass away, else you are not claimable with the medical fee, however, if passaway, his family member can get compensation sad.gif

1)Medical insurance are important even if a person is with company medical coverage as to hedge for certain type of risk. Example:
a)Company medical limit is low
b)Transition when changing job
c)When getting older, one might not entitle to get medical coverage and thus when retire, the person may not have any medical coverage.
PA is another kind of story because PA is claimable even if you bought more than 1 policy in a go, Example if loss of one toe should compensate you 10% of the total policy amount, if you bought 3 policies amounting sum assured RM100,000, each of the companies will compensate you RM100,000 x 3 x 10% = RM30,000. It doesn't hurt to buy more, but get it according to your needs and income.

2)Yes for life policy but not for PA. Life is covering natural, illnesses, accident and committed suicide(after 1 year).

3)It will fall under the estate of beneficiary and will distribute according to the Distribution Act 1958. nod.gif

Hi,

You may request your agent to change it to monthly and use a credit card form to automatic debit monthly installment from your credit card. There is no online portal to pay insurance like umobile portal.

As far as I know, there is not insurance company doing this. However, you can use your credit card for monthly payment.

Hi,

It depends on whether it is both or only one parents and the age of your parent diagnose with the illness. Underwriter take these two into account when underwriting your policy nod.gif

My condolences on your father's sudden demise. No words can describe the feeling of losing someone to Cancer.

--

During the insurance application, you'll be needed to declare your immediate family history (living or deceased) for Underwriting to access the risk.

They will look at father, mother and your siblings before coverage can be granted.

Cancer is not considered as congenital illness, but rather a hereditary condition (conferred by or based on inheritance).

Congenital Illness is something that a person was born with. For example, hole in the heart at birth.

Need some advice,

1. Me, a 19 y/o student, if I want to be protected, what should i buy? accident insurance, saving plan, or medical card?

Please explain to me the main difference between each of them, and the price range.

2. I am thinking that i should get medical card to cover medical expense if any, while the other plans are perhaps better for me to sign up later when I am more capable of. Is it right? Hope someone can enlighten me with any idea.

3. My mom bought an insurance for me but only for accident, 100k if death, seems pretty useless to me because if i die or forever be cripple, the 100k won't be mine to use anyway. Is there a better plan to cover sickness and accident together?

Thanks!

Yes, for a young person like yourself, a coverage for medical card would be sufficient until you are working on your own capability to get better coverage later on

It's great that you are looking into your finances at such a young age!
Your parents definitely did parenting right, and I don't say this loosely.

Well, sad to say that you might get contrasting info from this forum as each agent is trying their best to solicit/secure appointment and/or business here. Some times even being ridiculous, having war of words among ourselves unnecessarily, making a fool out of ourselves (myself included).

Here's a portal with all the relevant and necessary info for you to explore: http://www.insuranceinfo.com.my/#

There's also an animated life stages clip with quick links (pretty useful), sort of like a wizard holding your hand taking you through the different life stages! I do find myself in it, and it also helps me in my own plans.
Here's the link: http://www.insuranceinfo.com.my/lifestages...ntPrefLangID=1&

Happy exploring!
