What will be the difference comparing those HDMI DVD Player with those high end DVD player without HDMI input . brands like Denon, Harman Kardon etc.. the product claimed the Pixelation is sharper.

With current HDMI output player selling in commercial retail outlet, are they much better now since the price is also cheaper.

RM399 for NS708? That's cheap, Best Denki in Penang is selling at RM499 and the price is nett, non-negotiable. You're lucky to buy it at this price. I bought mine at RM450 from a Sony dealer. That was 2 months back.

I dun have any experience with high end DVD players....but using HDMI is the most cheapest way to get superior video without having to spend a ton on tweaking, expensive cables or players..etc
I can say those a previous design...now the trend is all HDMI stuff....the old skool are slowly being fazed out.

Btw, Harman Kardon and Denon have high end DVD players with HDMI...

This is short review of my Sony NS-708:

It plays all my divx collections: Naruto series, desperate housewives season1,2 & 3, fantastic four: rise of silver surfer etc.

It plays all my 'cheap' DVD movies:
The image quality depends entirely on the source: if the source was encoded properly than the end result is superb.
DVD9 movies are preferred: watch Spiderman3 & Lord of the Ring trilogy the image quality is superb.
I notice that when watching animation movies like Happy feet and Beowulf, the colors are a little bit saturated. I have to tune the DVD player setting and my bravia a little bit to obtain more comfortable viewing pleasure.

Audio: I found that the audio is a little low for playback. I am using Sony Bravia S310(without any extra speaker system). Normal TV watching the volume at 15 is good enough but when watching DVD and divx with NS-708, I have to set all the way up to 25. Any idea how to tune this?

Anyway, this is a best buy DVD player from Sony: Good design, excellent playability, good image quality and great package. Recommended for all!
