please kindly go to www.mta.org for more info on CMT....

both also marketable and recognizable .... bare in mind that CFA is fundamental analysis and CMT is technical analysis, so it's the different thing...

However, nowadays people tend to use both as the fusion to do investment decisions....

Hi all,

Appreciate if anyone can suggest which part-time MBA is cheap & worth to take in Malaysia.

I've shortlisted some MBA in KL:

1) Olympia College's MBA partnership with Nottingham Trent University ~ RM28k

2) HELP Institute's MBA partnership with Charles Stuart University ~ RM31k
I'm planning to take a part-time MBA with the budget RM30k, welcome your comments & suggestions.

Try looking at Malaysia Institute of management.
Recognised by corporates and reputable companies. I am currently pursuing my diploma there. Environment is small but its good cause you get more attention from lecturers besides that, it is quite affordable and it is part time and classes is at night.

3rd semester in UUM KL
I would said, it is a decent course. I do not want to compare with MBA or Stratchlyde. For local MBA, I would said the lecturer is quite OK.
In fact, those lecturer is either UUM or UKM or UM.
It is not much different between local MBA as the pool of lecturer is almost the same. Of course, more gd in house lecturer will b better for the school.

Not much Non bumi, but this new sem, a lot of chinese join which is quite a surprise

yeah... been asking the same question too. where in klang valley proximity a good university for MBA? good course and cost around 20k maybe?

I am working and doing full time MBA in UNITEN, but seriously i think the class quality is low. I pay for a professional class but im now like attending a text book based degree class sweat.gif most of the lecturers also either outdated on their industry skill and knowledge or just those kids playing lecturer scared to get real job.

am thinkin to move to other institution. hope to hear some suggestion.

My opinion of is that MBA graduate got a lot d. In flux of MBA students during economic downturn is especially turn off.

I think go do something like MBT better (Master in Business Information Technology). Being the first to grad in this will give u better advantage.
Technology is the way of the future anyway: http://www.newinti.edu.my/intiuc/intiuc-co...-business-tech/

In terms of career prospect also, with everyone do MBA and everyone want to rise, what;s your difference?

I think a 20k MBA, u will getting lecturer at about same quality...as lecturer may just teaches in several local universities...for the same subject.
For example, I have lecturer form UKM, UIA....

i am taking the MBA from UM @ Dec intake and just share with you some of the information i gather through the orientation conducted on 17/12.

- UM started to offer MBA in the 1980's
- Currently having 70+ full time lecturer, of which 40+ having a Doctorate Degree with an average of 12 years industrial working experience.
- Each year, there will be 8 ~ 10 visiting lecturer from foreign institution
- According to the dean of graduate study, they are committed to improve the ranking of UM and intends to further upgrade the quality of their courses.

Prior to taking up the UM MBA, i have compared UM UPM & Segi-USQ and here are some of my findings:

UPM

- Their MBA offer in 6 Concentration/Major and require to take up a total of 14 courses (10 core, 4 elective) & 1 Thesis (6 credit hour) which sum up to a total of 48 credit hour. Course structure are very similar to UM but with less choice on the field of concentration.
- Admission: CGPA min 2.75, no working experience required
- Conducting in both Day & Evening Class
- Fee = RM 26k

UM

- UM's MBA offer in 11 Concentration/Major and require to take up a total of 15 courses (10 core, 5 elective) & 1 Thesis (6 credit hour) which sum up to a total of 51 credit hour. Course structure are very similar to UPM but with more option on the field of concentration. (Quite heavy sweat.gif )
- The assessment is basing on 60% coursework + 40% final exam (alamak sweat.gif i didnt know this before hand)
- Thesis assessment 70% project paper + 30% presentation.
- Admission: CGPA min 3.00, min 3 years working experience required
- Conducting in both Day & Evening Class
- Fee = RM 19k
- Exchange program with NUS (Singapore), France, Germany, Uni.Melbourne, Australia National University, Denmark, Japan, Peru. You may opt to complete your remaining credit hour in one of the foreign institution.

Segi-USQ

- Offer in 12 Concentration/Major and require to take up a total of 12 courses (8 core, 4 elective), no thesis required. which sum up to a total of 36 credit hour. The program is based on a combination of coursework + exam
- Admission: Degree, 2 years working experience required
- Conducting in both Day & weekend Class
- Fee = RM 30k ++ (According to post #1016)
- Exchange program with USQ.

Maybe those taking MBA in Segi & UPM can provide more information on their respective courses.
