Hedgehogs do not fancy lights. Thats a bad idea dude.As for air conds, pls do not go below 23c. Most prolly they will hibernate and that'd be fatal.
*
Yeah i get ur point, but my idea was to cover the lamp with black and put it on top of the hidebox .. i just neeed the warmth of the lamp...

And i rarely let my aircond go below 25 degree... but are those indicator reliable??

If it's like that, just make sure your hedgie is warm enough by giving him some clothes or blankets for him to cuddle inside when he's cold. Avoid putting the container directly to the air-cond smile.gif

If thats the case, i guess the light bulb (large type) system will be sufficient? powered by batteries? Dun worry about the brightness, i ll cover the bulb with foils or dark colored paper etc... just wondering if the heat transfered is sufficient...

I m now contemplating between a few days old and a 3 month old female.. The 3 month old is kinda like a snowflake.. nice color.. but 3 months old sounds to me like abit old already.. haha.. the few days old need to wait for another 2 months.. and the color unknown... so kinda in the dillema.. i would like a few weeks old hedgie.. but dunno wats the color like.. and not sure whether got female or not.. If you ever plan to breed remember to do research and think carefully before considering breeding.

Went to get a huge PVC pipe elbow for my Mizu. Upgraded her to a larger storage box last month and Echo will be getting a big storage box of her own soon. Her PVC pipe is too big to fit into her container.

Reanne..
ur hedgie name is Mizu?
haha.. just for 1 second, i tot u were referring to me..

taking a half day off today.. went to a fish shop to buy food for my red eared slider.. after strolling n browsing for about 15 minutes, i noticed dat dis shop also sells hedgies.. but only albinos.. the price is RM 280 each.. but sadly, they don't know how to take car of the hedgies.. there are 4 hedgies in a not so big aquarium, and the aquarium is quite dirty, and the hedgies also looks dirty.. one of them has a red marking on it's quills, afraid to assume the marking as blood.. pity for them.. huhu..

Why when some ppl get a pet, they want to get in pair. I still can't understand why.

Agreed... I guess it is just the human mindset.... we will automatically think every living thing needs to be in a pair.... without realizing that it can cause more harm than good....

hao.. it's the fish shop nearby the Padang Jambu's traffic light.. i think, the place there is known as Pengkalan Batu..

guys.. maybe for some ppl who are new to hedgies, don't know dat hedgies like to live by itself only, unlike gerbils who need to live in group.. me also don't know dis at first..

aha.. i m interested in knowing too... today i passed a petshop in petaling street.. saw those poor kitten cramped in a cage.. the ass is full of faeces which looks like rock hanging... its so freaking smelly.. man.. those shop should really just stop taking in animals if they cant handle that much animal... or better still... close down... its unhygienic... i pass by oso dun wanna go in...

If its in mycase, i would just hope that my pet got a companion when i m not around.. feels pityful when they are alone and i m not around... but this would only apply to animals like SG and some breed of dogs..

For hedgehog, i like the fact that i dun have to feel guilty for leaving it alone, coz it is solitary by nature.. and i like the fact that it is independent in nature.. but always wanted a clingy pet like SG too.. its just that i dun have time to contribute to it.. tongue.gif

So i guess, sometimes when we wanna buy a pair of animal we have to make a through research first on the behaviour of the animal and its nature..

The condition of pets in King Kong is very very bad. Only blind or retarded people get their pets from there. shakehead.gif

The thing is people actually said they've read all the informations available about hedgies hmm.gif
