PS/ in fact it folds smaller than the XDS FA16 because the handle bar is folded to the middle of the fold rather than outside.

do you guys think whole fnhon vg2018 will be able to fit in 29 inch luggage ?

I don't think so. The FnHon vg2018 (the vg actually denotes Verge, I think ) folded size is (according to Tern's website) 38cm X 77cm X 71 cm while a normal 29 inch luggage size (external) is 67cm X 53cm X 33cm. So, very clearly you are unable to fit in.

BUT if you were to loosen the handle bar, take out and also take off the 2 wheels, line with foam, very likely you will be able to fit it in. Just a guess though.

I rarely ride mine. Tried selling it as it is is also hard nowadays. So, I want to buy another velo, the Giant Expresso actually. I will be making and selling leather craft related to cycling so I need an old fashion bike to display the leather bags. What I will do is, I will use back my old wheelset, groupset, seat post and saddle, practically everything except the frame and fork and handlebars. So, the new one will be given to you. Very cheap too!

Guys, I'm planning to bike n ride on weekday going to work. May I know any suggestion on the bike that is small and relatively light weight? Because I'm going to take on MRT. New guy in folding bike here

FnHon16 seems nice

The small is easy but the light is a bit hard. Although most are in the range of 13 kgs, it is the bulkiness that makes carrying it bothersome. The Bromptons , although 14+ kgs, their fold design and also the handling of the folded bike makes the carrying easy. It's hard to actually find the center of gravity of the folded bike in most folding bikes. Some are folded too thickly and this is where Dahon wins, their folded thickness is less than many. It's because the handlebars folds in the center. Even Terns seems bulkier because of the placement of the handle bars on the outside.

So, in you query, Get the Brompton if you are willing to fork out 7K or get the China copy version of it for about 2K. If you don't really need lots of gears, the Dahon EEzz is good, or the Dahon Dove or similar (single speed 14 inch wheels).

wow, 7K is way too much for me, because I'm just started. The Dahon that you mentioned seems nice, any good place that you recommend so that I can compare some model St one place?
Regarding the inches, if I want to carry on and off MRT, 14 more suitable? Weight wise, 13kg is OK for me, just don't too bulky so that easy for me to carry and also not to cause inconvenience to others on the train.

carry to MRT is one thing, but the distance thereafter from MRT is another issue.
Say you got 14" and after each mrt ride u are cycling 3-5km it is quite ok.
Say after MRT you got another 20km to 30km, that's a different story..however it is doable on a 16"..14" might takes a bit more time.

Having said so, it is always a trade off between size, speed and comfort.
for me i think i can sustain 30km on a 16inch and it may be slower than 20". that's a trade off i am willing to have as i am carrying it overseas for city sightseeing.
however I am doing long distance touring too i.e 90km to 120km per day across cities, in this scenario i would like to have at least a 20" to ride on.

Have u check the distance yet? i used to commute daily with lrt and i was using a Dahon eezz D3. 3 speeds and i enlarge my chainring to 42T (that's the maximum). 5km from lrt to home and 3 km from lrt to office. If i ride straight that will be 25-30km depends which route i take.

Will be better if you have your budget in mind. To be honest i think the eezz D3 is the perfect balance on price/size/practical to commute.
-Less than 3K,
-fold almost same size as brompton,
-can be roll along easily (Not as easy as brompton),
-9KG (mine was lighter, change to carbon handlebar,carbon seatpost, and lighter crankset) Around 9kg with all accessories,
-3 Speeds and not to forget the super fast unfold process.

Enough for most of the hills. I even climb Datuk Bandar hiil and genting sempah with this bike before. slowly but surely.

After half a year i commute with lrt, i ride straight to office instead because that took lesser time. Sweat more but it's my own office so i shower inside, problem solved, and then i let it go as i don need a folding bike anymore. Mainly commute with my RB now.

If you dont mind to fork out 3K for a bicycle, go for Dahon eezz D3. Strongly recommend for commuting.

I think most of the bike shop is selling at 2.9k. Try Kimbell Jaya or bike shop that near you.

Bicycle wheels are tension-spoked wheels, smaller diameter are stronger, meaning smaller wheels require lesser spokes...

Man, i used google map calculate my route, it was 2KM from LRT to my office.

My daily route would be as follow:
Home -> MRT via SHUTTLE BUS
MRT -> LRT via walk between the interchange
LRT -> Office via BIKE

So the distance that I would ride would be 4KM total per day.

Hopefully can get a second hand good condition Dahon EEZZ D3, I went through it just now online, it looks stunning.

Dahon EEZZ will be excellent for your intent and purpose.

With a bike i think u might as well go with Bike-Mrt-Bike option. The LRT is not very friendly with bike during rush hour. In fact it's not allow. I use a bag and went in, no issue. But because it's much more pack than MRT, to get in and out might be frustrated as most people will stand near to the door.
Mrt is fine. More spacious and less passengers.

Hmm, i just calculate the route with Bike-MRT-Bike, it will be 3.6KM one-way. Still ok
I guess now i should go search around if there is any 2nd hand Dahon EEZZ if not i will have to buy a new one (any place got promo???)
