QUOTE(azrb.com @ May 11 2016, 06:36 AM) I am sure for your skills and expertise you can get $7000-8000/month after tax. well, 7k to 8k is when it's a good time. now market doesn't sound good. so better off maintain intermediate. But you are already doing good with your own property And also able to blend in well with the people here. More than half a year here and I am still working on my language, haha It's not the Australian accent that I'm having trouble with But those people with strong Irish accents...I can't get what they say at times Buddy you say that if you earn enough back in Malaysia you would prefer to stay there But don't you think the lifestyle here is so much better? The higher u get, the easier kena goreng. Irish and scottish accent is a challenge. even local ozzie don't understand too earn enuf is when all kids grown up finishing their uni. that time can decide where to enjoy. earn Oz dollar retire in malaysia sounds pretty good. malaysia is a nice place to live. my hometown is near seaside where i only walk 10 min to the beach. i don't mind to spend some money to buy a land and build back home near the beach for retirement. |

QUOTE(z21j @ May 11 2016, 11:59 PM) That's why the purpose of migration is very personal. I came here aiming to have my kids attending good environment and education. once they're off from uni to work, i can plan for retirement on having holiday later on. once you earned AUD, your view would be different on how u gonna use ur money. need to work hard for it |

Im just afraid aus has too much temptations that i may potentially spend off my savings. I could have saved more in sg or osaka (my previous two work places) and therefore moving to melb is another bold step. But yes, my purpose to melb is to experience the definition of "most liveable city" before i settle down. Hope i can tell the diff after a while.once you earned AUD, your view would be different on how u gonna use ur money. need to work hard for it |

But yes, my purpose to melb is to experience the definition of "most liveable city" before i settle down. Hope i can tell the diff after a while. well, it's very much depends on individual. a few real life scenario in my social circle might give u a hint:-Scenario 1: ME! i got 2 young kids, both our side got parents and live well. moving to perth is a big move to us. we're professional back home working super hard to give the best to kids. got properties, friends, family around but still make this decision to move forward to down under. Yeah, political and education system is an issue. however, we have yet to let go malaysian passport of course coz we're still looking for one day to retire in malaysia.....if the political scenario is getting better and safe. Once kids grown up, join the work force, at least life would be easier for us later. So the hint is the kid's education. Scenario 2:- friend of mine I got my best friend from KL and knew him since i was in college. we graduated and further studies to overseas. I decide to go down under but he decide to go to UK. so off we go and i never met him till last month we got gathering. he graduated in UK and manage to get a job and worked for 15 years. that time still single and lonely. making big decision to come back KL, work and look for soulmate. married last year and decide to stay put in KL. Most people telling him why so stupid to come back malaysia with bad time in malaysia. Well, mostly becoz even u got good opportunity but can't fulfill the emptiness inside. Scenario 3:- cina apek retiree like to travel everywhere. kids grown up. have their own life. fly in and out to look for his old friends and choi shui. he'll compare the medical fees which one is cheaper based on 5 star hospital in both countries and he'll choose either one. he got 15 houses here and still counting. play around with grand children. So which type of life you're looking at? this is just a scenario and might not be applicable to anyone....just for reference and just for laugh |

But not many see the crime, pollution, dirt (litter and in politics), high cost of living etc. |

Better medical benefits 4. Safer country to live in While my Singaporean friends migrate due to 1. Afford to buy properties + cars = better lifestyle 2. Less stressful/hectic life there 3. Kids 4. Retirement |

I migrated primarily for a few things.
1. Kids school 2.kids lifestyle (security) 3.family security 4.job and career advancement 5.lifestyle My daughter lived a sheltered life in kl ...never alone anywhere , here she walks to school (priceless) experience. 90% of the women in my family a victim of crime in kl. My wife has regained her confidence to venture on her own (priceless) |
