using malaysia's toilet need kung fu. check out the scenario below:-

Scenario 4:-
sometimes you would find there's a 'submarine' cannot submerge and emerging even you flush it many times. this reminds me of Malaysia Scorpene scandals....now where's the mongolian girl?

The leader said he is innocent so no need for further checking. No toilet roll involved.

Question: Renting an apartment without prior rental history in Australia. Is it still possible?

Thinking of renting an apartment when I go to Australia. The last time I rented there was 2011 and I can't remember the details of the person already.

I have photo ID, offer of employement, bank account statement, maybe medicare card. Would this be enough to rent an apartment? I hear that the oz landlords require a lot of things before they will rent to you.

sure, now is the best time to ask for low rent. they don't care who you are now.
Last time i bid the rent for 15 properties. only 2 response. every property got 50 over people swarm into in 1/2 hr time. If you face looks like $hit, no chance....just kidding.... biggrin.gif

So what you're saying is that there's an oversupply of rental properties right now? I suppose I should say that I am talking specifically about Melbourne.

using malaysia's toilet need kung fu. check out the scenario below:-

Scenario 1:-
squatting pan is the most hygienic. assuming u got toilet paper on your left hand, playing i-phone on your right hand. it may took a while for you to squat say 15min to 30min. make sure your legs are strong and your blood flow is good. make sure you don't drop your i-phone in the hole...once done, stand up slowly....real slow so that you won't fainted in the toilet or else no one gonna save you in there!

Scenario 2:-
toilet suite but without toilet seat pan. this need a good kungfu skill. either you squat on top of the toilet suite OR.....you sit half way in the air make sure your butt not touching the toilet suite surface. this kungfu need 2nd grade to perform. don't play2

Scenario 3:-
toilet suite with toilet seat pan = no toilet seat pan. most of this happen is that even the toilet seat pan is there but you would see the foot prints on top. means that there's some other kungfu bloke perform their kungfu before you.

Scenario 4:-
sometimes you would find there's a 'submarine' cannot submerge and emerging even you flush it many times. this reminds me of Malaysia Scorpene scandals....now where's the mongolian girl?

I ain't sure about the market at melbourne. I spent 2 weeks to find the house which I'm staying now. I can only get the property I want after I offered the landlord/agent that I'm going to pay them 6 months rental in advance.

Would like to ask (hope it's the right place). Do australians recognize malaysian working experience particularly in accounting and banking sector? how about commercial? (I'm not talking about the points in the point test system)... Cause i heard some people saying a lot of experienced corporate people that worked for many years here in malaysian have to start from beginning (fresh grad pay) in australia.. How true is this? I have also heard people saying it is impossible for asians to get into top management in Australia. Hope someone with experience can enlighten me further on this. Thanks..

A slight oversimplification. U pay 45% only for every $1 ABOVE $180K (which is not what 'normal' ppl earn anyway).
Also for lower income earners, there are tax rebates for ppl with families, rental assistance etc.

Another way of offsetting tax is to buy an expensive car, tax-free....

be a high or low income, ATO still love you very much. console.gif

Yeah, wait until u got RM100k income per annum then u won't migrate dy.... biggrin.gif
u forgot the expenses of GST my friend.  dry.gif

RM100K, still low.

the nature, both have GST. One is a well detailed gst vs the other gst pick out of no where.
Atleast the GST here is well used for the basic necessities.

Even here tax are high, its still well pay..for the "necessity" rather splurging on debt laden project that defaulted right at the end of the day...

I am sure for your skills and expertise you can get $7000-8000/month after tax.
But you are already doing good with your own property smile.gif
And also able to blend in well with the people here.

More than half a year here and I am still working on my language, haha
It's not the Australian accent that I'm having trouble with
But those people with strong Irish accents...I can't get what they say at times biggrin.gif

Buddy you say that if you earn enough back in Malaysia you would prefer to stay there
But don't you think the lifestyle here is so much better?
