I posted some job vacancies to local newspaper and online. I highlighted that only valid visa are eligible to apply. However, i received hundreds of calls and 90% of them are without valid visa or parachuteers... blink.gif

I haven't exactly went into the immi website to check but is it THAT difficult to get a valid visa to work in Australia?? What if my occupation is not in the SOL list - do I still stand a chance?

Er...not quite. 80K is only good for an engineer with couple years experience. (And if u convert to RM - but then RM is performing so poorly now...)
Starting pay is 60K.
Anyway dont forget that on a working visa, taxes are higher cos there is no tax relief...
Not pouring cold water...just laying down my thoughts.

o worries, i'm aware of the taxes, but for a start is pretty good already, for me at least laugh.gif

There's always a chance with following options:-

option 1 - apply until your profession is in SOL list
option 2 - take other courses to meet SOL list
option 3 - bring $$ for investment migration
option 4 - bring $$ for business migration
option 5 - look for big ozzie mama to marry or ozzie apek to marry

Risky, as the job code can be removed from the SOL.

Actually a TAFE course can be finished in a year or so...so better chance the SOL may not be updated so quickly....
Also need to fork out the AUD for fees.

189 visa and 489 visa, its better to apply 189 directly right? In stead of rush to 489? 先苦后甜?

Do employers accept 489? Its quite risky to take this visa i guess.

Plenty of hot Ozzie women.
In Melb they'll be in Broadmeadows, Sunshine and Dandenong.
In Syd go for Mt Druitt.

Hi guys, I just got an invitation for NSW 190 and already submitted my application few days ago.

I am just wondering at this stage (which is while waiting for the NSW State Nomination Approval), can I apply for my police check certificate (PCC) in "advance"?

Reason being I am afraid it usually take 1-2 months for the PCC approval by Malaysia Foreign Affair Department, so I want to do it earlier.

Cheers.

i think the PCC is valid for 1 year... by all means go ahead and for normal citizens, its takes only 1 week for them to generate out the letter when you request it online

PCC in Malaysia took 14 days for me. I think nowadays it's fast, you just need to constantly keep an eye and fiollow up if youre doing it yourself.

I'm holding 489 now...I don't see the difference of 489 or 189 when u applying for job...the problem is 489 need to stay at specific areas, hence it limits the job opportunities...

Mind sharing your experience which job in the SOL list you applied and with how many points and how long you waited for your invitation?

Guys, I noticed a selection for Sponsors in the assessment for Visa eligibility. I have relatives in Perth, WA. My aunt and her children, one of them are over the age of 18.

My understanding from reading the documents at https://www.border.gov.au/Forms/Documents/40.pdf. Is that a sponsor will help me in financial if I ever need it as to not burden the Aus Government.

What I worries though that will I burden my relative if I put their details down? Will it helps in getting a work easier in Australia? I have not confirmed with them on the sponsorship thingy as I plan to get more information before informing them of anything.

Or maybe..could they help me in getting a job in Australia? whistling.gif

I believe they can't sponsor you PR but will only grant you a TR. It's no different from a graduate visa in simplistic terms.

Also in getting a job, most employers will prefer a PR over a TR, unless they know someone from the inside. Having said that, no harm coming over and give it a shot, while picking up other odd jobs in the meanwhile.

All the best!
