Basic question about CC,

If not mistaken, there are 2 types of penalties. One if you unable to pay the minimum amount, and another one is unable to settle the whole amount. Am I correct?

May I know whats the rate for both penalties on this Ikhwan Card?

To avoid bank-milking-our-money-concept, which one to avoid? Unable to pay minimum amount, yes?

if you don't settle min payment, you will kene late payment charges + interest

if you settle only min payment and above but not whole payment will kene interest only

Pay full, you will get money from banks (cash back) and they can't earn a single cent from you.
If you have started to pay minimum or not paying in full, I suggest to suspend the card until you are well disciplined.
Credit cards are for convenience not to add burden to your financial.

Most of us in this section pay in full and maximize our credit cards' benefits.

Anyway, just my friendly advice and humble two cents.

too true. i use my credit card for a cash substitute. not for spending cash i dont have. use ezypay on occasion, but only so can leave money to get interest in other bank account. i have enough debt with my home + car loan.... i dunno how people can just swipe swipe syiok syiok... dont they realise they are spending someone elses money...

meaning they accept cc to buy? cause some hypermarket they dont accept cc..

bank already earn certain percentage from u the moment u swipe the card..
just the earning are invisible to consumer..

depend on what you buy..
for e.g. electronic stuff, they include the 2.5% charge to you..

I'd like to apply for MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum.

Searched through MBB's website & found out that one of the methods to apply for the card is to call 03-5891 4777 to get a pre-approved card.

May I know how does this method work? I'm not familiar with this particular form of procedure.

can go into any maybank to apply. but best to look for the booth. then can get free stuffs if lucky. unfortunatly i only got a water bottle. wanted the suitcase... but takde. i is sad.

That is more for those who has their monthly salary crediting into MBB account. With this, they do not need any supporting documents and CS will fill up the form on behalf via phone call.

if outstanding is 2k...
due date 1st every month..

and i clicked, pay any amount now..instead of pay statements balance..
let say 1k each time,

why the statement balance didnt reduced, or it need to wait due date ends?

coz ive paid all 2k outstanding, but statement balance still there..2k..

statement balance wont change. no matter even if you pay the full amount. the one that you should focus on is the outstanding balance

maybe need wait due date..

hahahahh. i think you probably bought some things and they just showed up in the statement kinda late? like i just bought airline tix and took them 1 week before they were reflected in my account.

Decided to apply through Maybank office. The staff told me that I will know the status of my application in a week's time. Totally forgot to ask for free stuff...will request for it the next time I pay that staff a visit
