Thanks for the advice there.

IIRC, the last time i check about the FSP SAGA, its offering dual 12V rail at around 15A each. So, should be around 30A for both rail MAX. Thats more than what silverstone and CM Extreme is offering. The problem is, is the SAGA a TRUE POWER PSU. Tried searching many places about the answer but to no avail.

As said before, further testing will be done tonight with the PSU directly connected to the power socket (not extension anymore) to see whether problem persist. Then, switching to another extension will also be done alongside the suspected faulty one. After that, i might shift to another PSU (probably some chaplang one or get another 400W PSU - the FSP i am asking) and retest again on the suspected faulty connector. If problem did not occur, i will assume its the extension that is causing a problem..

they wont stack and give u 30A...this is because the rail 1 and 2 comes from the main rail... correct me if i am wrong...
and i think SAGA is cheap coz they dun have active PFC...correct me if i am wrong again...

and why do u need to spend extra money (more than rm100) to confirm is ur PSU problem?? jz send the Silverstone to the service center and test on the spot lor...

Hi guys!

I'm using currently Hiper 580w PSU and it serves me well for one year until yesterday. Suddenly I can't turn on my pc and it just gives me the 'peeps' sound.

Is the PSU fault or any other parts in my pc? if yes, how can I repair it? RMA?

Well, for a first, i am not getting another PSU just for testing purposes. I am helping a friend of mine to get a new PSU for his new rig. Therefore, i could use that on my own rig for testing purposes. If it is confirmed that my PSU is faulty, i would at the same time, have a temporary replacement while waiting for the PSU to be back from RMA..

What is the difference between having active PFC and not?

ya like to know is enlight true power a 'true power' powersupply? Also FSP Saga can find at where at lowyat?Or mayb robyncom got it?
I m planning to upgrade my pc,here are the main detailed spec:
amd x2 4000+ AM2
asus m2n32-sli deluxe
2X1GB PC 5300 DDr667 ram
Xfx 8600gt xxx
one sata HDD only
two dvd rom
I plan to do a slightly overclock for cpu and gpu,so ho many Watts of power supply will be sufficient for it?hv a really tight budget not more than 250..

I think Would go for Acbel true power 450Watt true power,3 years warranty should b better than cooler master true power450 watt with 1 year warranty only in the same price.

Hi I wanna ask which PSU is good for my motherboard? I'm using below spec:
- Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 v3.3
- C2D 6600
- Asus ATi X1650Pro GE

I'm looking for power between 400W to 450W. Not sure which band below are good for above spec. Main concern would be silent & good for overclocking.

Enlight
Cooler Master
Powerlogic
ICUTE
ACBEL

between all of them, only Acbel is good. others are crap IMO. look out for a silverstone ST400, it is a good PSU, better than Acbel smile.gif

Guys, can enlighten me about what are the differences between ATX version 2.0 and version 2.2?
I was thinking to get ACBEL Intelligent Power 450W, but what stopped me is it is only ATX version 2.0 blush.gif

IIANM, ATX version 2.0 PSUs has around 70% efficiency while ATX version 2.2 PSUs has around 80% efficiency. but hey, my acbel intelligent power 450W supports ATX version 2.2, that means it have around 80% efficiency. maybe mine is a new batch wink.gif

it should be enough to power up your rig.but be wary that it's not good enough if you're planning to OC ur pc smile.gif
