1. how exactly do I get video streaming to work? it can only play videos from the 360's hard disk. sad.gif
*

to stream from your PC you need either Windows XP MCE or Windows XP SP2. with SP2 you the latest Media Center Extender from xbox.com or Media Player 11.

QUOTE(nerd @ Dec 13 2006, 04:57 PM)
edit: but I still can't get the videos to play! keeps on saying no videos found sad.gif even on my thumbdrive it can't detect!
*

try download some WMV video from http://www.xboxyde.com/
if cannot play that one also thats mean something is wrong.

no, only files with extension of WMV and encoded with WVC1 or WMV. audio should be encoded with WMA.

Back to the 360 HDDVD drive though, Wouldn't a standalone HD DVD player cost about the same?

a standalone hd dvd player would cost about the same as 360 console + hd dvd add-on, so if u already hv the 360, its quite a bargain. even pc hd dvd drives costs more...

Absentmindedness is my middle name, folks. In my fervous hunger for the drive, i have totally forgotten about what to FEED the drive with. *Hundreds of doh.gif can be heard around the country for this tongue.gif * .Just ordered 4 HD-DVD titles after consulting the AVSForum's Holy Grail HD-DVD listing , and they are V for Vendetta (for TrueHD lossless audio), King Kong (for U-Control feature), Chronicles of Riddick (for scrutinising fast moving action sequ?ences) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (for U-Control and HD-DVD/DVD combo feature).

Sadly, the fastest this can come to my doorstep is by next Monday with the 2-4 days Priority Shipping option, so it's gonna be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong weekend! Which i would probably wont feel, since im working in Melbourne and will only be back home come Sunday night. tongue.gif Wont stop me from refreshing the order status though. tongue.gif

Update on the whereabouts of the drive, it has left Subic Bay in the Phillipnes, so it should be in KLIA by today morning 8-9am. Once cleared, should be in the van, and be in my home, the earliest, 1pm, like how my PSP GPS addon arrived. Customs, please expedite clearance for this. bruce.gif

The standalone player is around $400+ but the killer part is the shipping because the thing is so bulky doh.gif

The add-on should be a decent player to use while waiting for the standalone to become more affordable biggrin.gif

I believe the HD-DVD addon of XBOX360 can be plug into a PC. Can the ASIA XBOX360 play US Region HD-DVD? I have doubt.

Yes..it can be connected to the PC especially when vista is released, and it requires hacking for the connection with windows xp. And, please bear in mind that currently, all HD-DVD are Region Free. This issue had been mentioned in this forum thread already.
