If you are going for the cheapest GSync monitor here, it should be Acer XB281HK 4k TN monitor, around 2.6k, if you want 1440p with IPS then prepare another RM 700 for Acer XB271HU.So GPU and monitor alone will cost you up to 6k already, add up other parts (i7 + 16GB RAM), it should be close to 9k to 10k. |

Sorry kinda new to this things If you can stretch your budget by another RM 300 then go for this, should be able to last you quite a while provided your requirement is not that high.Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 779 Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 403 Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196 Asus GTX960 4GB GDDR5 Turbo - RM 927 WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215 FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188 Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 185 BenQ GW2270 - RM 429 Total: RM 3322 (ETech price inclusive of GST) If unable to spare the extra RM 300 then either downgrade the i5 to i3 6100 (RM 485) or GPU to GTX950 (RM 699). Cooling system? CPU comes with stock cooler and the case comes with 1 rear exhaust fan, add another 2 casing fans in front as intake to improve airflow, casing fan is not included in the list yet. |

QUOTE(r3aperz @ Feb 18 2016, 10:42 PM) Kinda heard that the Asus gtx960 turbo overheats easily, is it true or is there a better alternative? Overheat? Very rare case for non-reference card even though Turbo series sports a blower type cooler but with modification from Asus for better air ventilation.Techview had a promotion on Gigabyte GTX960 4GB version last month at RM 950, not sure still got stock or not, you can try to ask them. If you are planning to get any GTX960 with price tag of more than RM 950, then you better switch to R9 380 4GB version, performance is better than GTX960 at such price. Sapphire R9 380 4GB version is around RM 980 at the moment. |

Budget OC here?
Any one experience with simple stock OverClocking? Intel Pentium G3258 has a stock HSF - copper/aluminum heat sink 95W TDP the same as stock i5/i7/Xeon Asrock H81M-VG4 (cheapest H81 mobo, that support G3258) I just want to overclock using stock HSF and stock voltage maybe increase very slightly eg 1.2v. I be happy if i get from 3.2ghz to 3.8-4ghz in malaysia weather? any more is a bonus Asrock H81M-VG4 said support G3258, i assume it can able to change multiplier and voltage? not doing to do anything more complicated then that. QUOTE(Leon be here now @ Feb 18 2016, 11:40 PM) Budget OC here 1.2v can hit 4.2 - 4.4GHz quite easily but you still need to pray the chip is good for overclocking Any one experience with simple stock OverClocking? I haven't tested stock cooler yet, last time I tried Hyper 212X on 4.4GHz, temperature is around 60 - 65°C when running Prime95, I estimate stock cooler will be around 80°C +/-. |

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ Feb 19 2016, 09:37 AM) Thanks for tip It was a very long time ago, couldn't remember the exact settings, if I recall correctly it was done with ASRock H97M-ITX/ac mobo at around 1.2v for 4.3/4.4GHz, purely for testing purpose only.what voltage did you use to get 4.4? if its stock voltage then you just won the chip lottery. did you use cheapo H81 mobo too? i was going to get a Intel Pentium Processor G3460 at 3.5ghz with aluminum hsf but then saw G3258 was only Rm11 more also better copper hsf, if i can get 3.8-4ghz on stock voltage and hsf, i am already happy g3258 at 4ghz is very similar in i3 in normal office performance (mozilla, html5 etc...), so i think its very good bang for buck If it is only for office work and no gaming, then G3258 is enough, if gaming then i3 with extra 2 threads will pull ahead. |

Hey guys. I am trying to build my first gaming rig.
Appreciate if you could help me look into the below: 1. MSI B150M Bazooka 2. i5 6500 3. Palit GTX 970 Jetstream 4. Cooler Master B600 5. Kingston PC4 2133 8GB 6. Kingston 240GB V300 7. WD 1TB 64MB (Blue) Sata3 8. Windows 10 Home 9. Optical drive <--- Do I need a Blu ray reader? or DVD is just enough? 10. Casing <--- Need suggestion. As cheap as possible, without any LED light. My budget is S$ 1500. As per the above, the price I checked by pricelist of HWZ is approx S$1500, but a bit more. I would like to push the price to exact S$1500 or below. I am also open to other suggestion if there is any changes for the list I listed above. Thanks GOO This post has been edited by GOO: Feb 19 2016, 10:24 AM |
