Hey guys. I am trying to build my first gaming rig.

Appreciate if you could help me look into the below:

1. MSI B150M Bazooka
2. i5 6500
3. Palit GTX 970 Jetstream
4. Cooler Master B600
5. Kingston PC4 2133 8GB
6. Kingston 240GB V300
7. WD 1TB 64MB (Blue) Sata3
8. Windows 10 Home
9. Optical drive <--- Do I need a Blu ray reader? or DVD is just enough?
10. Casing <--- Need suggestion. As cheap as possible, without any LED light.

My budget is S$ 1500. As per the above, the price I checked by pricelist of HWZ is approx S$1500, but a bit more. I would like to push the price to exact S$1500 or below.

I am also open to other suggestion if there is any changes for the list I listed above.

Thanks
GOO

S$1500 is around RM 4500 as of today's exchange rate, I am not living in SG so I will be using MY price as reference.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 844
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1550
Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD - RM 385
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Samsung DVD ROM - RM 62
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 409
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 180

Total: RM 4244 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Windows 10 Home OEM - RM 299

Total: RM 4543

Some suggestions on your current build:
1. Avoid Kingston V300 if possible due to this reason
2. Go for a more decent PSU, not saying B600 is bad, just the internal components aren't the top notch quality.
3. More and more people started to abandon DVD ROM now, so if you just want the DVD ROM for Windows OS installation, then I recommend you to use USB stick instead, much faster and save you some money.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Noted on the V300. As for DVD rom, I am considering it because I still prefer to have a physical copy of my game. So, I am buying the DVD rom for installation of games.

Will do some review again.

Thanks
