One of reason is, I want to use Mobil 1. Now I understand Mobil 1 is offered at all SC. I don't mind Total, but not a fan of Syntium at all.

1.41 tonne VS 1.42 tonne for the 508 THP and 408 Turbo respectively and I believe the EMP2 platform plays a huge role in the weight reduction. I don't think the current 408 Turbo is on EMP2 platform but do enlighten me if you know more about this.

Hi, wondering Ron 97 will create more power (Opmmm) for our 408T?

60k is the scheduled major service which would cost $3600 +/- total. As most ppl find this a hefty sum at one go, SCs split the items to be changed at 50k and 60k. Show the SC your last bill, they can gage the balance of the major service to be completed and do not double change any item.Having to spend this large sum on maintenance appears high. But trust me it's worth it,the engine sounds new after the major service! It's music to my ears to hear that healthy roar form my Lion even after 3 years! 

You do not have much time for air-con warranty, it ends by the 3rd year. Get that claimed right away. 4th &5th year warranty do not cover air-con.

That diesel engine sound is the timing chain tensioner not able to hold the timing chain tight. The slake chain is hitting it's guide and making the noise. Tensioner is a 60k replacement  service item. Since your timing chain is already making noise, you better do the 60k service right away! Since it's service item and you are due for major service, you have to pay for this. Can't claim on warranty.

I am very glad SCs have changed to Mobil 1. Amsoil & Mobil 1 are my 1st choice engine oils. They provide the best engine protection in my books. I was waiting to end warranty in order to start using Mobil 1.

juz wanna ask what problem did the air cond compresser did? mine when switch on the aircond u will hear the "krak krak krak". it sound like a air cond fan issue...or it the symptom of the air cond compressor problem??....the sound only appear when i switch on the air con....already call SC for checkup..

any ideas??

Yes that's the sound most of us had. It's an internal bearing that's defective. That particular part could be from a certain vendor. Only some of us had this problem, not every 408 rolled out of factory.

In theory if a car is not tuned for RON 97,it will make no difference. Our car is not tuned for it, so using RON 97 is just burning cash.

That is theory, in real life RON 97 has small amounts of performance additives. As a result of these additives, there is a difference in performance. I've tried and found BP RON97 to be best performing, best opmmph.

Erm..i  clocked 210KMH with my 408T.. Michelin tyres...Nitrogen tyres pressure (softer feel) and i did not find any problem with my car.. infact cornering also was superb... cant wait to upgrade the ecu program to stage 2 (after warranty)..here in Terengganu, it costs only RM2200.00

I've done 220km/h on stock tyres, not nitrogen-filled; ~250psi in front and ~260psi rear. I do 175km/h+ a little more often than I should (yes, I'm guilty) but if I feel something is off as I speed up, I check the pressures again. I have been in situations where at 200+, the car is still roaring to go but the reverse is also true when I've been at 130 and my car is not being very receptive. The adaptive gearbox is still something I find a little annoying but the quick fix is to drive in manual .

As one of the shifu's has rightly commented earlier, Malaysian roads are not built for these speeds so the risks are amplified so it doesn't hurt to be paranoid about your tyre pressure and engine liquids (like me).

EDIT: these pressures are when the tyres are COLD. If you inflate 255psi when your tire is warm/hot, it will reduce down to 230-235psi when it cools down overnight which will make it seem like you have gummy bears for wheels.

2. what does turbo mean? only can get the 240Nm torque for awhile?
