I've done 220km/h on stock tyres, not nitrogen-filled; ~250psi in front and ~260psi rear. I do 175km/h+ a little more often than I should (yes, I'm guilty) but if I feel something is off as I speed up, I check the pressures again. I have been in situations where at 200+, the car is still roaring to go but the reverse is also true when I've been at 130 and my car is not being very receptive. The adaptive gearbox is still something I find a little annoying but the quick fix is to drive in manual .

As one of the shifu's has rightly commented earlier, Malaysian roads are not built for these speeds so the risks are amplified so it doesn't hurt to be paranoid about your tyre pressure and engine liquids (like me).

EDIT: these pressures are when the tyres are COLD. If you inflate 255psi when your tire is warm/hot, it will reduce down to 230-235psi when it cools down overnight which will make it seem like you have gummy bears for wheels.

According to SC, 215km/h is the electronically-limited top speed. I suspect it was because the road was on a decline plane and helped reduce my engine strain just that tiny bit.

RPM was ~5300 and I don't think I could've gone higher, probably ran out of torque.

My run was on the new Penang bridge. Its mostly empty but very susceptible to wind. When it's windy or even drizzling, you need to drive much more slower than compared to the normal highway.

wouldn't revving at 4k RPM in N screw up the gearbox when you push it into D?

Get it done outside. I just did mine and it feels so much better.

Definitely goes over 215km/h. I was on a decline though so that may be one factor that helped.

Do like one of the other bros said. A good quality tint job and a thick non-transparent sunnex for the front windshield. The sunnex makes a massive difference, I had a semi-transparent one previously which didn't help much.

I think that's a Xiaomi feature bro. I use Samsung and I've always had to turn-off/on bluetooth on my phone then ask it to connect to my pug. If you have an alternative method (or app), please let me know!

Guys, I just spoke to my SC. Water pump surely needs replacement on 408t, temperature sensor (they claim) doesn't need to be changed.

SC said for 408t there are a number of things that need to be replaced as part of the recall including the timing belt - I was told it will take at least 2 days just to carry out the 'product enhancements'.

Anyone have further information on the additional items?

Here are my FC figures on Petron RON95:
@110kmh CC on highway: ~5.7L/100km (strictly 110kmh).
@130kmh CC on highway: ~7.1L/100km.
Normal city driving yields 11.2L/100km. I suspect the data is wrong because my full tank only does ~430kms before fuel warning comes on.

Running on Shell RON95 for a few days now. Too soon for FC figures but mileage seems roughly the same. Engine feels smoother though.

*when I live up to my alias on the highway, I get ~8.8L/100km.

My car lost power in the middle of the highway 3 times and then again on a normal road. This was at about 60kmh and with about a quarter tank of fuel on all occasions. I'm sure this is related to my HPFP but has anyone experienced this? Have yet to get this checked by SC.

*Lost power means the engine is running but the accelerator pedal does nothing for about 3 seconds.

For recall, SC says my car has needs replacement of the following:
1. Timing chain
2. Timing chain 'seal 1' and 'seal 2' - can someone tell me what this is?
3. Oil pump solenoid
4. Water pump (the whole unit and I'm assuming all hoses)
5. Temperature sensor

Will take one week to do, sending in this weekend.

I've had mine for over a year with no major trouble. Maintenance is pricey but you're paying for safety. Bros are right, price is an absolute steal!

P/s: The 408T accelerator pedal will make you believe everyday is your birthday .

Anywhere I can order wiper blades or suggestions on brands?

Peugeot says it's RM200+. Outside, I got a quote of RM 145 for a pair of Bosch replacements.

They only have 28".. 408 is 30" and 26".

Interesting, my 408T is over 15 months but have not had any battery trouble - still on stock. At my last service a month ago, tech said the battery is still going strong. Do you use the guide-me-home lighting?

My pug went in for 30k service 4 weeks ago and had to have the fuel sender replaced under warranty (cost: RM 1600, under warranty).

Last weekend, aircond just stopped working. Went in for a day and they replaced the thermostat (cost: RM 1400, under warranty).

Yesterday, radiator started making knocking noise and aircond died again. Opened the car hood and I saw that the SC in the previous visit had broken the plastic near the latch.

SC asked me to check coolant level on the phone and my coolant is half empty 1 month after a service.

Got an appointment for this Friday.. this car giving me a headache liao.. only 1.5 years old!

Hi everyone,

I need some help with a couple of things on my 2015 408T.

1. My car cabin has a constant whistling sound at speeds over 80km/h. It gets louder the faster I drive. I've been complaining about this to SC and they've tried root-causing it for over 1.5 years now. They finally claim it's the entire windscreen moulding (cost estimate RM7k+) - basically all the plastic trim around the windscreen on the outside of the vehicle. I managed to get SC to replace one side under goodwill but I still have the issue. Any suggestions?

2. My windows are making knocking noises again - when closed, under normal city driving. Last time under full warranty, they have replaced it 2-3 times already with the same issue. Now they say it's not covered. Can Bros Auto or Renautech do something permanently? I live in Penang but any suggestions are welcome.

P/s: I saw earlier about tyre recommendations, I am on Michelin Primacy 3ST for the last 30Kkms. The Conti MC5 that came with my car started tearing away in large chunks after two years and started slipping on the road during rain. Michelin P3ST is rated for same speed, but it's quieter and a bit more comfortable. Handling no significant change. Yes, I do drive fast . Just did rotation and balancing, tyres still at 50% with no change to performance. Definitely go with Michelin!
