I understand that Proton is doing their best and integrating all these new cool toys to our more budget friendly line of vehicles, but, do these things happen to the owners of the Preve and Suprima too? I guess they also had some issues here and there, no?

Does anybody know about experiences from friends or family with other Protons? I have only had Perodua so far in Malaysia and this is my first Proton. I have not had "real" or permanent issues with mine, other than the ones I've mentioned before, but they were basically a one time thing.

I have a 6 year old Gen2 CPS. Nothing serious that the SC can't fix. Just that the Customer Service is useless in every SC and that good Service Assistant doesn't last til the 3rd time as move to other company SC... doh.gif

Worst case for me was forgot to install heat shield above exhaust causing carpet in boot to burn & melt... whistling.gif

Guyz...now I have a problem with getting my car...
I bought mine during the Alami Proton event with huge discount on 2014 model..
But now, my Sales Advisor asking me to pay RM310 for number plate and a seperate fee as i transfer my NCB...
I thought price after discount is still OTR price...no?

Guys, from what i know for car like iriz(computerized) it's better for you to wait at Acc/On until all the light switched off (air bag and etc) then start the car. This will allow the system to check everything before starting the car.
*
It will still check even if you go from Off to Start straight away. If there's anything wrong, the relevant light will stay illuminated.

Ohhh... OK. Well, not ok, but it's done. So the factory didn't install it then, I don't want to have to check everything every time I go to service haha!

Happen to my 1.6 about 2 months ago. Was at pasar tani parking while waiting for my mom and wifey. Wind down all the windows and switch off the engine. When everyone was ready and wanted to go back home, started the engine, wind up both front windows, success. Next, wind up both rear windows but both stop about half way up. After this, all 4 windows is not responding.

Sent to the sc the week after for 2nd service and to check on this problen. Forgot what the sc said, something like relay or fuse problem with the left rear window that short the whole power window system. They replaced the faulty part but it is not covered under warranty and i had to pay for it. Again don't remember how much but it was less then rm40.

Had to go back to sc the week after for them to do a thorough check of the wiring as they were worried that it could happen again. Was told i cannot use the left rear window until further checks or else it could happen again. Went to sc again and it took them about an hour to identify and rectify it.

So far no issue with the windows since.

By the way, if both rear windows are wind down about half way as per what happened to mine, driving at about 70km/h and above will cause the air coming into the car via both rear windows to make noises that is quite painful to me ears.. ouch..

hmm.gif I never put my windows down, as I always have the AC on.. Does this mean that whenever any of us open our rear windows we will have an issue too?

I think the car doesn't "know" that... It takes a few full tanks for the car to finally have some real average and some real estimations. This was my 2nd tank.

Don't worry overtime you will get used to it and adjust your braking point naturally smile.gif
Idk but my steering feels direct, like ford fiesta but better. For me Iriz steering feel is better than fiesta.
This morning while driving on highway chasing a gen 2 the rubber strip on the roof peeled off. Found out there is a small double sided tape under it. Luckily it doesn't hit any car or anyone(I hope). Going to COE tomorrow morning for warranty claim.  sweat.gif

I guess I drove too fast  tongue.gif

p/s: I saw a lot of new cars getting hit from behind. I think this is because the owner is not familiar with the new car braking power so they tend to over apply the brakes. Please be careful. It pains me to see new cars kemek oredi.

i just lost this few minutes ago...
hope can claim warranty....

and i just realise the window washer failed...maybe some loose hose...

driver power window very slow going up...going down OK...

Yeah, I also think that a brand new, properly used and maintained car should not have this happened to it, and if it does, the fuse is factory installed incorrectly or something in the design has to be wrong if the fuse blows under normal load and normal(expected) use.

If all that is the case, it should be covered under warranty, it can't be taken as user negligence.

Like most CKD cars I guess. My uncle is hopping mad because his 1 week old BMW 3 series is having the same issue, and it's much harder to fix than Proton tongue.gif

if turn inginition & wait at ON for the checkup prior to turning to start, the info screen will skip to the next upon starting. eg (before u last switch off ur engine, it shows TRIP A, then it will skip & show TRIP B if u waited at ON)

happened to most if not all iriz
the trick we done usually starting the car with opening the door so that the hud will not change to next info due to the image of door open will interrupt the change
dunno whether it is the feature or bug
