may I ask where are you from then? and also congrats! From one Iriz owner to another, I too hope our cars able serve us for a long time without giving much headache.
and on your last point, if Proton did as much homework on their quality control as they did when building with Iriz, then it would truly make Malaysians proud of Proton for once. Quality control is still the bane of Proton. But nonetheless, if you see from Preve to Suprima and now Iriz, they've made considerable improvements and the future looks promising for Proton if they keep up the good work.
Of course, I'm from Costa Rica, I work as an IT lead for a multinational in Cyberjaya.
So far, the car has behaved superbly. I find some procedures a bit fidgety, like someone else said, sometimes I wait outside waiting for my girlfriend to come out of her office and I switch the car on and I intend to keep the radio on. However, in order to place the car in "ACC" I need to close the door lock the car and open it again so that the sequence of the button starts all over again (ACC, ON, Start). Otherwise, the LED on the button stays off and my radio will shut off after some time.
Also, the gear lock, I feel it's a great addition, but I wished it was an optional thing. I park the car sometimes and I leave it in neutral, then I lock it and I can hear the gear lock trying to lock 3 times but because the car isn't in reverse it doesn't lock, and I guess that's not so good for the lock to be trying to lock and opening and cycling so many times, so I always leave it in R.
Finally, one day, I parked and I placed the gear in "R" and it locked. I was getting off the car, I remembered I actually needed to go somewhere else, and I sat back down, and i couldn't unlock the gear until I opened the door and unlocked the car with the keyfob...
Anyway, I think these aren't deal breakers to me and with some wishful and positive thinking, I think they can be fixed and or changed with software updates by service.
The car, overall, is amazing, I'm very happy with it. It truly is comparable, feature-wise at least, to Hondas, Kias, and current Toyotas and Nissans. Maybe I even dare to compare it to a friend's Polo.
