for now lets ignore warranty.. so we can just bolt on turbo on iriz or we need to change iriz engine? is it better to change engine or just upgrade the engine part by part?
*
I know it quite old. But in theory u could change the engine if proton launch a turbo iriz in the future then u transplant the engine or wait a bit as protex always got a bolt on supercharger for campro.

but CVT must change if upgrade to turbo right? and what is the likelyhood of Proton releasing an upgrade option for us non-turbo users?

Btw i mix bhp because i think bhp provide most power and petronas 97 smooth out the engine.. so combine.. quite nice.. more than normal 97

i don't think iriz can handle turbo torque.. cvt cant support more.. if wanna bolt on turbo, maybe we need to change the gear.

i have no idea why lol. Go back to who and change? I'm pretty sure SA cant do anything about it as they most likely got the set of keys from factory itself?

Service center? They got do these stuffs ah? Hmm, if want change also quite susah right. They need to make another set of the key, dont know they will take how long to do it. Then need put in same immobilizer code, etc. Not sure how is the process like. But seems mafan to go through this process. I myself not bothered by it, but just annoyed that such a stupid thing like giving customer 2 different types of keys can happen.

Plus i'm not the only one. Like bro yadea has both Type A's when it should be 2 Type B's. and bro adijb got 2 Type A's for his 1.6 Exec when it should be 2 Type B's as well. *facepalm proton* doh.gif

Yup. The response is pretty bad especially at the beginning. When you are used to immediate responce from mt or normal at, the cvt lag of about 1/2 sec at the start is pretty bad as the car coming at you is nearer to you by a few meters already.

Do be careful for new owners that are used to the immediate response of your previous cars and normally cut it a bit close when entering junctions.

Both my wife and I had to adjust our driving to suite the cvt characteristics. It took about a month for both of us to adapt. Nowadays we have no issue of cutting it a bit close when entering juction. Very much like driving our mt and at respectively.

Forgot to mention that the delayed response duration gets better over time.

I'm at the service centre now for what i thought was a regular oil change. I followed the mileage written on the sticker stuck on my windshield instead of on my HUD. The admin showed me the cost just and homaigoddd RM150 for oil, air filter and some general checking?!?

I'm gonna die if this is an every 5000km thing. I'm doing sales and i easily cover 1000km in a week. Car is only like maybe 5 months old and my mileage is already at 15.5k km sad.gif

Indeed. The jerkiness also lessened after two months or so. It's as though the car was learning to walk, like a baby tongue.gif

everything is ok with this car except the cvt sad.gif
The cvt is worse than expected. Very noisy even with very gentle touch on the pedal + the lag/delay/reluctant to move the car from stop... still have the same feel even after 1k service... Not a nice experience when u stuck in traffic jam zzz.

First time driver here.
1.6 CVT Premium

anyone know what is the home lamp thing? The lamps didn't turn off even after I set it to off and shutting down the car. It took some messing around to actually turn it off. Not sure what I did but I'm keen to know what to do when it happens again.
