Both my cars are dec 2014. Those bought 2015 can answer better. However, my 1.3 which was called up for ecu/tcu update early 2015 had a better response after that. The delay was reduced to 1/4 sec from 1/2 sec. Still no immediate response but the delay is negliable to us. Unfortunately there is still no update for my 1.6.
With my 1.6, to get it to move instantly onto a junction, as the last car almost passes by my car, i would have press the throttle to above 2000 rpm. By the time the last car passed by, my car would have started to move fairly quickly onto the lane and be just a few meters behind the last car that just passed by.
By adapting your driving style, you can enter a junction fairly easily and even cutting it a bit close. Once you adapt to it, there are new things that you will learn about this cvt that is interesting and unique to it, not available in mt or normal at, such as how to get instance max torque when you need it.
Have patience learning, adapting and exploring your new car. I sincerely believe the majority of owners would be able to adapt and finally get the most out of the car, even the cvt.
