I thought 2015 iriz dont have this problem.

Both my cars are dec 2014. Those bought 2015 can answer better.

However, my 1.3 which was called up for ecu/tcu update early 2015 had a better response after that. The delay was reduced to 1/4 sec from 1/2 sec. Still no immediate response but the delay is negliable to us. Unfortunately there is still no update for my 1.6.

With my 1.6, to get it to move instantly onto a junction, as the last car almost passes by my car, i would have press the throttle to above 2000 rpm. By the time the last car passed by, my car would have started to move fairly quickly onto the lane and be just a few meters behind the last car that just passed by.

By adapting your driving style, you can enter a junction fairly easily and even cutting it a bit close. Once you adapt to it, there are new things that you will learn about this cvt that is interesting and unique to it, not available in mt or normal at, such as how to get instance max torque when you need it.

Have patience learning, adapting and exploring your new car. I sincerely believe the majority of owners would be able to adapt and finally get the most out of the car, even the cvt.

Hi,
Proton Iriz 1.3L Turbo uses a 6-speed MT. Was unable to know at what RPM's does the boost start coming in. They also told me that 1.3 drivers are probably gonna be unable to get an 'upgrade' option.

Hi. Just curious. Saw some milky color spots on my rim this evening. Is this happened due to oxidation? Any sifu know how to treat the oxidation?

I just went for a joyride.

Took the Iriz for a run, went up to 4k rpm/120+km/h and heard the VVT breathing/roaring to life. icon_idea.gif

Btw, CVT huh... From 0-100+ the speed just climbs and climbs. Like a train feeling. It just goes faster & faster. No gear changes, no upshift jerks/lags, smooth all the way. If one doesn't pay attention to the speedo, could be totally oblivious towards driving speed. brows.gif

Btw want to ask for 1.3 CVT, what is the rpm @ speed.

Mine is 2.6k-ish rpm @ 100km/h but 2.9k~3k rpm @ 110km/h.

Is it correct?

mine was a bit loose as well. Told the SA during my first service, end of April. That was about 5 months ago. Until today still no news when the part is going to arrive.

I asked the supplier at their booth. They said cannot claim warranty but can buy new key housing from Proton.

Sounds about right. 140kph would be about 4k rpm for me.

Looking at the figures...

The torque is 190nm. Probably at the top of the gearbox limit. I read somewhere the getrag 5spd MT max torque value is 200nm. 1.6 has 150nm, so if wanna put siput just light boost until the torque is closer to 200nm...Well that's IMHO. After that maybe change the final drive.
