I just had a test drive, 1.3 a tas no mt available. Quite a nice car, handling is kinda good and the car feel stiffer too. The SA told me that he will try to get a 1.6 mt for me to test.
Overall i'm ok with it as the car is kinda suitable for my driving style.

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Nov 22 2015, 04:15 PM) As for me, Before 1k km service, the max I went was around 4k rpm, just to test that awesome sound it makes After my 1k km service, the next day itself (which was few days ago) I tested the car's top speed. Which was around 160km/h @ 5k rpm What you should do during engine break-in period is to drive at varied RPM. Don't drive at constant RPM. So go ahead drive at 2k, 3k & 4k rpm. It will be fine, but not advisable to drive on highway @ constant speed/rpm for long distance. This is to ensure the pistons or whatever components in the engine gets to mate properly by driving at different RPM. I maxed out my current car on the 3rd day after i took it and its not even 1k yet, drive at varied speed and rpm and shift thru all the gears. Till today the car still can hit max speed. I think this is similiar to the motorman engine break in technique

QUOTE(saufeq100 @ Nov 22 2015, 02:52 PM) Ahhh my car got scratches at side skirting... Any good paint shop around jb or any proton services can fix it? Help me 😠Minor scratches can do yourself. For more extensive damage, can go to a number of paint car shop. I sent to one when my 1.6 graze pretty badly with a concrete wall above the front left tyre. The shop did a pretty good job of repairing and painting it.

QUOTE(ben_ang @ Nov 22 2015, 10:37 PM) But y always ppl say cannot drive too vigorously during the break in period? D*mn, i so scare i till wont dare over rev my car.. old way of thinking. Same as ppl advice to warm up car before moving. Totally pointless, wasting fuel and harming the environment. Not to forget, you don't even actually warm your car up by idling. Moving the car will get the engine warmed up in 1-2 mins but letting the car idle for 10 mins doesn't even get the engine warmed up enough for optimal performance. 20-30 years ago punya story.. Drive however you want during break-in period, just apply common sense to what you want to do to your car. Don't redline it, do burnouts or donuts, etc etc. Machines & lubricants these days are so advanced, a lot of the "break-in practices" are practically myths.. QUOTE(skywalker78 @ Nov 22 2015, 04:03 PM) Yes, they told me I will get the letter on Dec. BTW saw lots of comments on flooring the pedal reaching 160 and beyond; my question is, you no need to wait for the engine to run in? I only keep the maximum speed to 110 km. Hi, mind to tell when did you get your iriz? I got mine registered on 30th Oct.

I initially touch up myself and the result was satisfactory. Unfortunately my mom wack the same concrete piller against the front left side of the car again, harder this time.. must be her blind spot. I passed my car my nephew who is a mechanic. He picked it up at my house and send it back to me when its done. A bit more expensive but less work for me I can pm you his number if you still interested. Attached thumbnail(s)

Even the manual in Proton also updated with the fuel saving tips which is to drive right after starting the engine if possible. Idling with engine running at start will only waste petrol.

QUOTE(saufeq100 @ Nov 21 2015, 04:14 PM) It will void if effect the other thing. For example, I wanna change the stock springs to the lowered spring. If it will make the suspension system like absorber leak or something. It will void but change a rims they still consider on it.. One of mechanic told me... but if change rims only i don think effect anything ... just plug and play lol

I've noticed my car having issues reaching my recorded max speed of 185km/h.. It's at 8300+ km now and I've changed the tyres from 55 to 60. I think it's time to change engine oil and recalibrate the speedometer..
