Hello guys,

Well cut to the chase, what is the main reason you guys choose Iriz over Myvi or any other cars that fall under the budget ?
*
i choose an iriz because my proton perdana is still around for 15 years, my family loves the car so much. I never had problems with proton cars except like those normal service and wear and tear parts.

Iriz was an option for me because of the 7 years warranty & high keras safety features and interior design

I got two questions:
1. Can fit 205/50r16 into Iriz?
2. Inside the driver side's rear wheel arch, can see clearly the pipe leading to fuel tank. Can I spray it black? Any safety issue ka? In case it have special coating to avoid electrostatic and prevent from explosion?

Cheers.

1st service 140++
2nd service yet to come in 7k mileage rclxms.gif

btw 1st and 2nd service should not differ in price. And i strongly advice you to not use mineral oil for 10k mileage, your engine will accumulate sludge over years

1. you can go, but warranty around your tyre area will be voided (as discussed in Version 3 of this club)

2. I suggest not to, yes you're right. Its probably coated with electrostatic resistance paint/substance.

Didnt you just got the car?
Maybe next time, when you sit/drive a car that you havnt driven before, when you're parking, move till you know its within safe limit, then go out of the car, and visually check the distance. Move the car again so the gap gets closer. Repeat till you find the final limit (with margin). Memorize the limit.
Same thing for driving at close proximity.
Iriz is pretty short though. The ramps werent built properly? Sue the management. lol

Looking at the owners list. Seems that I'm the only one with 1.6Mt premium. Would that mean I can sell off easily?
*
yes and no...

yes..manual cars holds its value well, and less problematic...
no..it shows that there is lack of interest for MT model, especially high priced 1.6...

safety is no 1...

no2 is driving pleasure...

Lack confidence when speeding in Myvi. Lack confidence =  cant speed + if speed then will feel uneasy.
Other than that for that few hundred extra im spending getting an Iriz, I am getting way more in terms of safety, excitement and more. Also based on my experience, sitting in Myvi at the back from Subang to Klang caused me to have a back ache while from KL to Camerons parents sitting at the back didnt complain.

Due to personal feelings, I dislike how Perodua does their business. Take an existing car, sell it for cheap I'm ok with that but after so many years they only keep doing facelift and not improving the safety of the car is a big no-no. After Iriz came out, I waited for Perodua's response and it was here's a facelift and new gearbox.

Also I intend to buy and keep the car for at least 10 years therefore I need to choose something I would not regret. So far my only semi-regret is not getting 1.6MT but since I just started working at that time so I don't have much money.
*
spend few hundred extra?
i spend few thousand less for an Iriz..
and that myvi didn't even got ABS...

Both iriz 1.6 cvt exec and 1.3 cvt exec service cost is about the same. Both differ from 1st and second service. Both used the free voucher given which stated different amount between 1st service and second service.

As for mineral oil, proton should know better in their recommendation for EO. And i am following it for now. Same as i followed toyota's recommendation for EO for my avanza of 9 years which was mineral oil can last 10,000km service interval.

What other car provides such safety features below the RM50k mark?

Plus, Perodua actually cut back on certain features. The Myvi 1.3G (baseline) now comes with old school reflector headlamps, and no Bluetooth connectivity. Previously they had projector lamps and Bluetooth for the cheapest variant.

Not to mention, NO ABS, which is just laughable in 2015.
