Pick this up from iphone 6s thread at hardwarezone.sg
Was not aware there were 2 different makes of the chipset Guys, if you all interested, you can check your iPhone 6s or 6s plus and see whether your A9 CPU is made by TSMC 16nm chip or Samsung 14nm chip by install this app. My Gold 64GB iPhone 6s Plus is using Samsung 14nm chip. Link: http://demo.hiraku.tw/CPUIdentifier/ Do you guys know that iPhone 6s or 6s+ A9 processors have 2 diff size due to manufacturer different.. SAMSUNG one is said to be 10% smaller and more energy efficient than TMSC... h http://9to5mac.com/2015/09/28/a9-samsung-tsmc-speed/ This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 4 2015, 10:33 AM |

Anyone know whether Machines/Epicentre/etc. will start selling new iPhone 6s cases before launch day, on launch day, or will be a bit late? Judging from past patterns..
Not sure whether it's worth it to start buying a case for a phone I don't even own yet from eBay. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Oct 4 2015, 02:06 PM) A Samsung chipset on an Apple product. How ironic! Well Samsung is one of the world's largest and most advanced chipset makers. And Sony camera image sensors on Samsung products. Is that ironic too? Point is, it's a business. And as how Apple deals with Samsung's manufacturing costs and makes sure that it's a profitable business transaction, so does other phone manufacturers deal with their phones having Sony camera sensors. Buy in bulk, price go down. Same with manufacturing in bulk. In the meantime, Samsung's always happy with being able to continue stealing Apple designs (hardware and chip-designs) when they get the Apple contract to manufacture the next A(x) chip. QUOTE(KaiHD @ Oct 4 2015, 12:50 AM) for me it's like: your 128 GB 6+ is cheaper leh... why we brought at RM3500ish where you only buy 3100ish...1. iOS ecosystem (bought a lot of paid apps) 2. iTunes (so easy to manage apps and music, by far the best music library organiser imo) 2. accessories (too many cases/screen protectors until I don't know which to pick haha) 3. resale value (last year i bought 128 GB 6+ for RM 3100, now i can still sell it for 90% of what i paid) camera is good, but i don't use it much. but i do take lots of selfies when with friends so the front cam upgrade is really tempting me haha. yes. except this time 6s+ OIS also works for video. last year OIS for 6+ only for photos. also 6(s) screen is 720p HD, 6(s)+ is 1080p HD. |

QUOTE(xproc @ Oct 4 2015, 03:11 PM) Well, yeah you are right. Have the point.I bought few iPhone 6 Plus casings last year and in the end I didn't buy any iPhone last year. I'm still thinking if I should the same this year. Anyway, I always travel to Beijing, can easily buy cheap casings there and via Taobao. |
