Quoted for truth. In fact, I think we were too busy reminiscing about our iPhone purchasing escapades since iPhone 3G just now than talking about our latest purchase.

Seven years running and the iPhone Day-1 buying group is still tight as ever. Was much easier back then to get it on Day 1 than now, but you get the more genuine diehard users in line for the iPhone 7 years back than now, where these days it's permeating with scalpers and opportunists.

I would recommend the pink (stop calling it Rose Gold already, you're not fooling anyone, Apple!) iPhone to the womenfolk, they've been sidelined all these while in favor of male-oriented colors. Apple's trying to tap into that other market segment more aggressively.

Some things are generally accepted universally. There are exception to the norm, like skirts are for women, but the Scots wear kilts for example, and they wear it manly, but pink ain't for the men. More power to you if you want a pink iPhone and don't care what others think about you sporting a pink phone, but like it or not, (or maybe it's just the rebel in you), you'll be looked upon with that same stereotypical thought. Same reason why when men look lustfully at men, we're called a pervert, but when women do that, it's called idolizing and totally accepted. Some things are just accepted that way. So does the color pink when it comes to gender association.

A cursory look at the article and the term "peacocking" men and splashes of photos of men in fashion shows. Sort of proves my point really. I did mention effeminate. And we all know fashion ain't exactly manly either.

I play the matching game too, like that male nursing student in that article (heh, "nurse", male....another misalignment of profession and gender, but getting more and more biased-removed now). Matching gold 2015 Macbook, gold Apple Watch with antique white band, and gold iPhone 6S Plus now. I'm just thankful I dont gravitate towards red and its hues of colors, else I'd be even "considering" that pink iPhone. *shudder*

Went to one of my regular Apple Premium Reseller to get the iPhone Lightning Dock in Gold, and asked them about the new iPhones. They have it on good authority that Malaysia MAY be on the next launch countries, as soon as end of next month. I was my usual skeptical self, and asked them why they think that.

The way things work here, and for the past release launches, demo units for display, can and able to be preordered in before actual availability of the units itself. Historically, when this happens, ACTUAL launch day is less than a month a way. And Apple Premium Resellers here now can already preorder their demo units, which by that extension and past history, means the launch day is less than a month from now, or by the very least, by the end of October.

Also, check the shipping dates of iPhones now at Apple Store Online Singapore. Historically again, after launch day in Singapore, if you miss the window, the next shipping date will have slipped to 4-6 weeks. If you look now, it is still 2-3 weeks shipping. Which means Apple has enough manufactured units to ship out without the shipping date slipping to the 4-6 weeks window. Also, that 4-6 weeks window means that stock has depleted so badly in the online store that they will only get replenishment AFTER the second wave of countries launches, which means fresh batches of manufactured units have arrived.

By these two deductions, was the reasoning why they believe that Malaysia will get the new iPhones before October ends. Take it as you will, I'm just the messenger. And take this with huge spoons of salt, I may be way off base with this. Malaysia has never been any earlier than 4th or 5th wave of countries before this. Historically too, this is unlikely to change. But it was enough for the folks in management at these Apple Premium Resellers here to defer their Singaporean iPhone 6S purchases and wait out the October local launch.

Again, I may be wrong.

Looks like what the APR guys were foreseeing is true. This is kind of unprecedented, we never had an iPhone launch this early from the first wave launch!

Nope. Even in 4K recording, my iPhone 6S Plus doesn't exhibit that.

I felt so vindicated by this image. The direct consequences of the latest Apple announcement of the Malaysian launch, is already making the scalpers tucking their tail between their legs and dropping their prices. How ironically delicious!

It's role-reversal now, it used to be them smugly dictating terms, now it's their turn tasting their own medicine. The ultimate insult and a spit to their faces would be to see nobody buying anything from them until Malaysian iPhones launches.

The same thing happens 7 years ago, there were no Lazadas around, and the method of spreading their cancer was, among other places, our own LYN forum. Unless someone does something and bypass these butchers and be able to get units at retail, you are at their mercy.

Earn a living = taking RM300, 400 or 500 profit. Not that Lazada-style butchery. It's understandably "where's there's demand, there's cockroaches taking profit" and "willing buyer, willing seller" mentality, and those who are driving up the demands are partially at fault, but it's because practices like this that made these "people wanna cari makan" are the one employing Banglas in Singapore, and poor mainland Chinese in Hong Kong, to stand in line with SGD50/HKD50 for each of them, flood the line, and DENY those who legitimately getting phones for the right purpose, instead they flip it to the highest bidder.

It was IMPOSSIBLE to get iPhone 5 at one time, because these "enterprising cari makan people" use lackeys in the number of hundreds to stand in line, each of them buying up all the stocks, and left those who wanted the phone legitimately, high and dry, and forced these legitimate folks to buy from these leeches at your "cari makan" price.

THAT is why I'm mad. These leeches were never an Apple fan in the first place, and they're using the passion of folks who legitimately wanting the phone for the right reason, to slaughter their wallets. And what's worse, some of them are arrogantly gloating at how much they made slaughtering people buying their iPhones, with no remorse whatsoever. So, if it's "business we're talking here", then I hope this news of early iPhone launches make them go business-bangkrupt.

If being forced to pay 100% extra on top of an actual retail price because stocks were HOARDED by these leeches and you're stuck with waiting for new stock until these leeches are satisfied and fat with the shameless profit they made, isn't called ROBBING PEOPLE, I don't know what you call it then.

Tab hoarding like crazy, but mine is mostly 12-15 tabs open, no tab refreshes at all.

Refreshes. iOS still doesn't multitask like Android. Give and take I guess, my multitasking S6 Edge couldn't last through the day unless i kill their processes.

The Verge and NYT webpages are heavy enough. No Force Closes. As for webpages that aren't formatted to mobile, brute-force surfing it with beefier hardware isn't the answer: the webpage itself needs an efficient mobile version. Like running outdated versions of Flash when everyone else already running HTML5, that is not helping, even when beefier hardware can run them, you'd be running the battery down as well if you continue browsing it too.

Apple earns USD50,they give back to programs which ultimately benefiting end users in the long run, scalpers "earns" USD500 they give anything back to society?

4K video. LivePhoto. Lossless audio files, playback via Onkyo HF or Kaisertone player app.

Nothing to do with how powerful the A9 chip is. It's more on content consumption and content creation.

4K videos and LivePhotos alone is reason enough to go 128GB.

You don't exactly get 128GB when the device is fresh out of the packaging. 113GB IIANM on mine before a single app is synced or downloaded into. 64GB might cut it for average Joes, but even me with relegating gaming to my iPad Air 2, I'm running out of space on my 6S Plus. I'm already considering increasing iCloud storage space to 1TB for USD20 per month. so that I can opt to constantly refresh my available storage after photos are uploaded.

Does not apply if you stay 1080p60 and not opting for LivePhotos. If that's the case, why use the 6S then? Might as well stick it out with the 6, not that there's a huge performance gap, my old 6 Plus was legitimately still behaves like a flagship device with flagship performance with iOS9 before I sold it off. The purchaser himself did a relative speed test side-by-side with my 6S Plus and he's very happy with what's he's getting even with me goading him on to get the 6S.

4KTVs are already at the sub RM3,000 mark already. A far cheaper price than the 6-digits price 2 years ago. As for content, it's a chicken-and-egg situation: no 4K content less people adopt 4KTV, but less 4KTVs adopted less inclination for contents to appear. Personally to me, it's a subtle act of undermining progress. And content here does not have to mean COMMERCIAL content, home made videos applies as well.

LivePhotos to me is Apple's attempt to kill off Vine. It may not be popular here, partially due to the low bandwidth we have here but Siri and Touch ID wasn't a concept we were fond of, or thought of as important before its introduction, and see where we are now? Android phones racing to slap fingerprint scanners left and right! Not to mention Google Now and Cortana.

The color is part of the allure. Touch ID was more important, personally to me at least, than the color gold.

I think the point Harmeet is putting across is, let's NOT encourage Apple to jack up price just because it's a new color, it's better to cheer for new hardware than the effeminate color.
