An ori-games show-off thread would be nice. There's one riding on the pinned Nintendo DS thread. But it would be a little boring though, since the trend is to only buy the same games, so what's the point to show off in the first place if there's no diversity

And yeah, this sub-forum should get a new mod first.

So you think a forum with nothing but games will be good hafez? The way I see Kopitiam is that it's a place for us to know each other better and occasionally voice out our opinions regarding the current trend of the industry. What will happen if I openly declare Wii sucks with a new thread here? I'd be doomed for sure, but my constant nagging in on this issue is more like a open discussion instead, some agree and some not.

If Kopitiam is just filled with NDSi news then that or the dedicated NDSi thread would become redundant. No?

If one day this sub-forum really only contain gaming related stuff then I will be the first to go.

Way too many threads regarding piracy here. We need to kick them out!

the problem with the lack of active threads is because the regulars don't start many game threads with their rate of buying new wii games leaving the outsiders to open threads about mods and accessories/peripherals so on which often lead to non-lasting discussion or worst, piracy talk.

and as many and myself pointed out, outsiders got no appreciation for wii games because of its cost....

so unless the regulars step up and buy more or start more active discussion about wii games the situation is unlikely to improve.

It's a vicious cycle. lack of wii quality wii games makes for less discussion which opens up for newbies to talk about piracy which means they create temporary, shortlived threads which is made worse by lack of quality wii games

even the ones playing the batuk version don't start any active discussion about the wii games... or is it really because wii hv no good games as often as it should?

buying or not...if there is a game worth mentioning..ppl will talk about it.

u can see the difference in xbox360 thread...they hv piracy too (though ppl dun say openly) but the game thread lives!!!

true, xbox have more true-blue hardcore gamers.... i guess piracy+casual gamers is a deadly formula.

anyways i think we should revive bose's what are u playing now thread because it's unlikely we will all be playing the same game so it doesn't have to be too strict but at least so form of game discussion is taking place.

nintendo is not very popular compared to microsoft (windows) and sony..... (In my place....)

The nintendo kopitiam has been around for a while now. Before that there was pretty much only games talk and with that, there were about all of 4 people in here daily.
Granted this was a time when Gamecube was floundering, DS phat just debut, and Wii was a rumour called the Revolution, but its been the place all youse been bragging about which game baru beli baru sampai. generally, i figures its a good place to chat and destress.
You want kopitiam stopped its up to you all.


As for changes on the pinned topics, many of them are like that because people that are not me decided they would be responsible for keeping them up to date, but eventually left them lying flat, and neglected to find someone else willing to take up the job.
There is a great deal of information in those pinned thread, ranging from wifi routers, to connections tutorials, to friend codes. its all a mess.


1)i find that a list of friend codes is next to useless. when you add someone, that someone doesn't not receive a friend notification on their own wii/Ds (if im remember correctly). Wouldn't it be better to have a short thread where people advertise the games that they want friend codes for, and anyone interested can PM the said persons. I would not mind deleting posts older than a week, but i forget easily and need to be reminded.

2)Upcoming games is dead. I will throw it away now.

3)Network technical stuff is all over the place. forum threads are just not meant to hold this kind of information. Any suggestions?
I would think an external link would be acceptable somewhat. but even then someones gotta html a nice webpage for the stuff. and keep it updated.

4)I never felt that a forum was a good place to put FAQ. In order to access the information properly its got to be in a question/answer format. its doable, just needs someone to start.

5)Pirate talk is always the talk about the town. I would not have threads to prune otherwise. if you see something the report button is just a click away. I generally ignore reports along the lines of "Duh bad man hurt mah feewings!!" reports, but will pretty readily remove and "ARR" talk. as a rule of thumb, if a thread is getting hot and you are NOT one of the parties making loud rants, please report it.
