Hi guys, I am plan to travel to UK on 10th Julai so am trying to decide on which card to use for best rate. I only have these:

1) Maybank 2 Card AMEX
2) Maybank 2 Card Master
3) Maybank ikhwan Petronas Gold
4)

Would anyone be able to advise which one will give provide the best rate? I have checked out the rates shared by members in this thread, seems like AMEX is on the high side? Even the 5X TP doesn't seem to cover it, although some members did comment that it has better rate relatively which is really puzzling. I also saw that Mastercard typically has better currency conversion rate but Maybank seems to be charging 2.25% admin fee for international and Visa i not sure charges

For HLB Wise, the minimum FD placement is 3K only. Not sure about Mach though.

Each bank is different and not all banks allow FD pledges.

1. Annual Income: rm >36k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes if possible, also considering with conditional waiver

3. Card required for: paying telco bills (celcom)

4. Existing credit cards if any: m2c, citibank cb

5. Looking at CC from: any bank

* i am looking card that gives rebates for telco bill payment. From what i knew, citibank doesnt treat celcom for the 5% cashback rebate, only 0.2% like other spending. Currently using m2c amex for the payment that only give 5x tp (~1.2% rebate), plan to cancel this card and replace with other that give more rebate/benefit.

Thanks in advance

UOB VOX, every statement month just need to use once (paying Celcom is considered as one swipe) to avoid monthly charges of RM 6.00 (excludes GST). It has to be RM 50 and above per transaction to get cash back.
Try using UOBPayOnline to pay bills.
5% cash back up to RM 50 = RM 1000 spending.

I was told some banks have started to look at basic salary only.
When I upgraded my Maybank cards two years ago, they still see my fixed allowances. Now probably they have changed it...

Thanks for the reply. So that uob card 5% rebate is entitled for online transaction only? The thing is, currently i pay the bill using auto billing which celcom give 5% rebate. So now just want to maximise rebate from credit card side, without cancelling the autobilling :-).
Any other recommendation?

Based on Credit Card Foreign Exchange Rate thread discussion, most lowyat member has the best rate with AEON card which is around 1%, im travelling to Euro this thursday too, im using Public Bank as main card, i tested a foreign transaction and do the calculation, the charges is 1.2x% which is tally with the 1.25% told by their customer services

1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must

3. Card required for: Listed below

4. Existing credit cards if any: None. Applying for my first card.

I plan to spend within my income and will pay on time. My most frequently spent categories are petrol, food, personal health products (toothpaste, shampoo etc), sometimes movies and clothes.

So far reading this thread, I found the Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Gold Card to be suitable for me, especially with the convenient auto topup Touch N Go card linked to it and no annual fee. Is there any other card that I should know similar to this before proceeding?

can also consider MACH card from HongLeong subsidiary, but there is a clause for 12x spending to auto waive the annual fee. Good for movies, trendy shoppings and dining.
