If I need to choose between UOB VOX and UOB ONE card, would the ONE card be better? Or still VOX better?

I have came up with a summary before for these two cards:

QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 20 2016, 01:41 AM)
Well, both have their own pros and cons. I have both to ease my life. smile.gif
Honestly, most of my online purchases are charged to VOX rather than CIMB CR.

This is my own summary for these cards:
i) CIMB CR is a free for life card while UOB VOX is not, you will need to spend at least once per month (no minimum amount) to avoid RM 6.00 monthly charges.
ii) CIMB CR has no minimum amount for online transactions in order to be eligible for cash back but VOX requires you to spend at least RM 50 per transaction to be eligible for cash back.
iii) CIMB CR's maximum cash back for online transactions is only RM 30 (that means max spending for online transactions is RM 600) while VOX can be fully maximized at RM 50 (for RM 1k of spending).
iv) CIMB CR's has a fixed date of cash back crediting while UOB VOX sucks here and according to T&C, it is by 30th of the following month. Sometimes the VOX's system behaves while sometimes it doesn't. I'm involving BNM in this matter. bangwall.gif
v) CIMB CR has cross borders charges (read here) while VOX doesn't have.
vi) CIMB CR's maximum cash back for online transactions is only 5% while UOB VOX is 5.3% (5% - online transactions + 0.3% retail transactions).
vii) CIMB CR doesn't give cash back for flight tickets while UOB VOX gives.
vii) CIMB CR doesn't give cash back for UOBPayOnline transactions while UOB gives (refer to first post of this thread).

So in conclusion, apply for both. smile.gif

Hi senior, so in my case, I have MBB2Cards Gold currently, in the process of applying UOB VOX for my Unifi payments, I knew the best next card to have is CIMB CR, but the petrol CB is only 2%? As my monthly petrol fees is hovering around RM320-RM340 range. Would Al-Ikhwan would be better options then since its 5%, although rejected? I was wondering to try to appeal, with reducing my current MBB2Cards credit limit and bring it over to Al-Ikhwan, hmm.

1. 100k
2. Depends on (6)
3. General/insurance
4. CIMB CR, Maybank Ikhwan (daily usage and online covered)
5. Anything
6. Watami is going to close down, what's the best replacement? I have GE insurance but the OCBC GE card doesn't look too interesting (in particular 0.1% on auto-IPP compared to 3% I was getting with Watami...)

OCBC GE Plat is 1% for first RM 1k, subsequently it's unlimited 0.5%. Well, nothing beats Watami but beggars can't be chooser. laugh.gif

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Cashback or points for shopping/dining/bills etc.

4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank Ikhwan Mastercard

5. Looking at CC from: any shariah compliant provider (Islamic/card-I). MBB, CIMB, RHB, HLB are around my location though.

6. Others: Ikhwan MasterCard give 5% CB only for petrol and groceries. I usually pay using CC and maybe can benefit something from my new CC biggrin.gif
I use the most for online/offline shopping and dining.
